Religious Freedom Novena

One of my readers and some folks over at Pelianito’s site have made me aware of a Novena for Religious Freedom that will begin tomorrow. Right now, Christians have become the single most persecuted faith in the world – and in the Middle East responsible estimates are that 100,000 are being murdered each year solely because of their faith. This is a worthy effort and I invite any who are moved to join it. You can get information on it and the prayers at

About charliej373

Charlie Johnston is a former newspaper editor, radio talk show host and political consultant. From Feb. 11, 2011 to Aug. 21, 2012, he walked 3,200 miles across the country, sleeping in the woods, meeting people and praying as he went. He has received prophetic visitation all his life, which he has vetted through a trio of priests over the last 20 years, and now speaks publicly about on this site. Yet he emphasizes that we find God most surely through the ordinary, doing the little things we should with faith and fidelity. Hence the name, The Next Right Step. The visitations inform his work, but are not the focus of it. He lives in the Archdiocese of Denver in the United States.

The site you linked to is great for keeping up with Novenas. I found it about 4 or 5 months ago. You can sign up, and he daily prayer for each Novena is delivered to your inbox with Novena instructions. If you work with a full calendar, it is great to get a daily reminder with the days prayers delivered to your inbox. If you don’t want to sign up, you just go to the site every day for each days prayers.

huge DITTO to Jim’s comments; I’ve been using since John-Paul started the service. my only suggestion (in my case anyway) is name could be “finish more Novenas” as I sure appreciate the daily nudge
