Whatcha Gonna Do When They Come for You? (Part One)

Many publications, including some at the edge of the establishment media, have started speculating about the federal government taking on emergency powers – or as some put it more bluntly, declaring Martial Law. It may not happen, but I must concede that the last six years has been an unending succession of assurances that some dire event will never happen. Then it does…and new assurances are made that, okay, though this happened, some even more dire situation will NEVER happen. Until it does. Then the cycle repeats.

Reading speculation on such things I have seen a peculiar combination of denial that anything serious is wrong and overheated fears. Most discussions of such a thing involve images of tanks lumbering up urban streets, lots of barbed wire and ominous men with automatic weapons. That is a cinema-driven projection of atavistic fears rather than a sober assessment of how the government – or a group – would likely seize power.

When considering such a possibility, you have to get outside your frame of reference and internal logic and enter into the opponent’s. Almost everything has an internal logic if you can successfully discipline yourself to get inside the frame of reference involved while not super-imposing your expectations and values onto the scenario. Once you get inside that frame of reference effectively, it is possible to predict where things are headed and understand why they are doing what they do.

I was pretty good at this when I did professional political work. This administration and its remoras are as difficult to figure as any I have seen. Yes, they are maliciously petty and intolerant of any disagreement, but one can be like that and still have a coherent internal logic. The problem is that, in the current status quo, there is very little internal logic. Usually, agree with it or not, I can figure out what a faction hopes to accomplish with specific actions and statements – how it contributes to its endgame. The administration has done many things that I don’t just disagree with, but make no sense from any internal framework I can come up with…tactics that will damage the very ends they seek. That is what has made analysis so difficult. They work against their own interests repeatedly and seem blissfully unaware, until the walls cave in and then they baldly proclaim that is what they intended all along – or that our lying eyes are deceiving us. The irrationality is not confined to government entities: even many prestigious publications have seemingly given up on rationality. I have unsubscribed to several publications I used to get perspectives from, useful even when they had a different bent than I do. But, for example, several foreign policy publications have written about potential flaws in the nuclear framework agreement with Iran. The problem is there was no agreement…and the principles the administration touted were all flaws and no features. It was like ordering a steak and getting a plateful of gristle. Fifteen years ago, perhaps even a decade ago, no serious person would have treated these clumsy verbal acrobatics masquerading as a deal with anything but contempt. I read some formerly serious financial publications earnestly explaining why bone-crushing massive world debt is actually good for us…abandoning all pretense of applying sound economic principles to anything. Once any entity, governmental or publication, ceases to make serious arguments and depends on “let’s pretend” they are not useful in any form of analysis.

In politics and media, there are a whole class of incompetent practitioners, usually in their mid-20s to early 30s, who have no guiding principles except their own self-regard. They constantly come up with ill-conceived schemes that inevitably collapse, but it never shakes them from the certainty that they are geniuses. Their self-regard is unconnected to any need for actual accomplishment – and they spend much of their time plotting how to blame their failures on others. These petty, scheming incompetent narcissists are largely useless – except if you can sic them on an opponent to agitate them. But they are legion and their whole obsession is to show how powerful and important they are.

Our current elites are a volatile combination of malicious, arrogant, and incompetent. I know many think there is a plot to bring the country down, to shame America. I don’t discount that…it is a thread that has run through left-wing progressive ideology for several generations now. But I don’t discount the incompetence at the core now, either, for many of the tactics and strategies are not well geared to advance the progressive causes they are mounted on behalf of. Bill Clinton was a leftist with whom I disagreed on most things. But he was competent and shrewd. I could figure out how what he was doing advanced his agenda – or covered his backside. For example, Clinton knew a strong dollar and free trade were vital to long-term economic health. Substantial parts of his base agitated against such things as NAFTA. Clinton brilliantly maneuvered things so that he both got trade agreements and strong dollar policies enacted, but was able to blame much of it on his Republican opposition. He protected vital interests while covering himself with the activist base. Much as I disagreed with him on much policy, I had to admire his deftness in maneuvering to advance his agenda while covering his flanks.

So what I am going to do is posit a scenario for establishing emergency authority in a traditionally free society that would be most effective, that would get the job done. It is not just a matter of taking control – but gaining control without triggering significant resistance…how to do it where you have gotten control before opposition can effectively rally and organize. Maximum control with minimum effort is the key to everything.

It does not start with tanks rolling down the streets for the simple reason that there are too many people, not enough trucks, and it would give away the game before you had effective control. The first step is to create a crisis or take advantage of a genuine crisis to foment large-scale fear. If, for example, you can create fear of an imminent terrorist attack – preferably using a dirty bomb or, even better, a potential nuclear threat, you can have authorities go house to house and broadcast telling people where to report for evacuation to a place of safety. Because of the logistics of such a huge population, you want to get a frightened populace to do as much of the heavy lifting as possible as the crisis opens. This reduces both the amount of labor and machinery needed to get people to camps while simultaneously reducing the available potential pool of resistance. Make a few such sweeps, punctuated perhaps with some random bombs and attacks to give the threat credibility. Only then do you send out the trucks to forcibly take the remaining recalcitrants. The opening days of such an event would not be marked by displays of raw power, but by efforts to anesthetize suspicions of ill intent and freeze into indecision any efforts at resistance. Public safety officials would not be in on the game; it would be important to convince them that the emergency is real, for they would be the most serious source of potential revolt if they thought otherwise.

In the first days as people were brought into the camps, care would be solicitous and freedom of internal movement assured – the better to get word out that this really is a compassionate effort to move people to safety. That would encourage initial resisters to come in voluntarily while confusing those who need to be taken forcefully and make it less likely they would seriously resist…while keeping alive the illusion among public safety workers that this is a genuine compassionate emergency.

Your window of opportunity to flee would come with the first announcement of where to report to be taken to safety. At that time, monitoring of specific neighborhoods would be loose, almost non-existent. If you drive, be aware of any routes to relocation centers that have been marked out publicly. Officials would be watching for vehicles moving in a contrary direction and stop them. If that happens to you, cooperate and go back in whatever direction you are told. You will get an opportunity to pull over and leave the vehicle at some point, perhaps even go back to your home under the pretext you have to pick one more thing up – then leave on foot from there. Such routes may not be marked out at first, but if they are, expect that your ability to escape by car will be difficult, perhaps impossible.

If you are a healthy adult, fleeing will be your best option IF you move quickly and decisively. If you have healthy children, it is even more important to leave quickly, for reasons I cover below. If you or someone in your family has a serious illness, it may be better to go ahead and go to the relocation camp, for reasons that, again, I will discuss below. In the early days, officials will be too busy processing intakes and sweeping population centers to spend more than cursory time looking for people who have actually fled. The greater power behind such things has a significant disincentive to search for such people, for they are the ones who would be most likely to foment dissent within the camps anyway – and are unlikely to be able to gather in any location in significant numbers to form a counter-balancing force with any alacrity. If you do flee, forming a resistance force is not your primary job, anyway, but to get to secure remote cover and keep your head low.

After the neighborhood sweeps are completed will come the first real signs that something ugly is up. Authorities will likely segregate children into separate camps or facilities at the camp you are in. This enhances control. If you are frightened for the safety of your children, you will be more likely to be docile and obedient within the camp…it takes the fight out of most people. The exception would likely be made for children with serious illnesses. Again, the key is control. Parents of children with chronic illnesses know their children are most vulnerable, so are likely to remain docile so long as they can care for their children. Caring for a chronically sick child is labor intensive – and not a good allocation of the limited resources officials have. Seeing other people’s healthy children moved to other will be sufficient to keep parents of ill children in line and leaving those children with them frees officials up for other duties.

In all things, the key is maintaining effective control – and as much as possible arranging things so people voluntarily, if sullenly, comply to free up as much manpower as possible. Within a short period after children are segregated, low-level public safety officials will start to suspect this has been a false flag…a ruse. This is a very dangerous period for top-level plotters. It will be important to be as soothing as possible for as long as possible in order to create enough uncertainty to forestall resistance among guards. Paradoxically, inside the population, there will be some loudmouth plants who try to foment resistance. This is to smoke out and identify people inside who are most likely to resist early and then move them to a more secure facility. It also serves the purpose of distracting the guards if there are a few minor revolts, convincing the guards that the problem is real for a longer period of time. If you are in a camp, your best bet is to keep your head low and go unnoticed for as long as possible. Loudmouths are as likely plants as anything else – and even if they are not plants, they lack the judgment to resist effectively. In silence, you will begin to recognize potentially kindred spirits after a month or so.

Dismiss some of the overheated fears. Even the most progressive Americans have not developed the sensibilities of Nazis yet. There is not going to be a bunch of summary executions or such: that would still incite potentially ruinous revolt. They do have very close to the sensibility of low-level Soviet commissars, eager to demonstrate their power through effective control and bullying. In the old Soviet camps, even in Siberian wastelands, inmates frequently formed mutual support groups and frustrated the efforts of their guards behind their back, recognizing each other over time in silence. You will figure it out if that is the route you have to go. Captive peoples have been figuring it out for millennia.

The key thing to keep in mind if we reached such a contingency is to understand that the minute federal officials undertake such an effort, they have not begun to consolidate their power; they have entered into the sequence that will end within a few months in their destruction. Be not afraid. This is the time when the dictum to be as wise as serpents and gentle as doves most directly applies. As more low-level civil officials recognize what is happening, resistance will spring up. To the extent they can, officials will use federal police attached to non-law enforcement agencies. Park rangers, the “police” attached to such agencies as the IRS, Dept. of Education, Dept. of Commerce, and other such will be the point people because these are most heavily populated by ambitious young people unmoored by a tradition of honor and service – eager to prove they are tough enough for a real police job and anxious to bully people. They can be shipped to locations away from their home location, so will not be likely to have moral concerns about oppressing neighbors – for they are far from any neighbors they ever knew.

Local police are an entirely different story. They will be protecting their homes and neighbors – and even their early efforts to get people relocated to centers of “safety” will be part of that. When they figure out they have been had, that is where serious resistance will first begin. But by that time a lot of the federal rent-a-cops will have been moved into positions of local control. Not to worry. Nine times out of 10, a wily old Sheriff’s Deputy with a pot belly will eventually get the upper hand over a bullying young narcissist who things he’s the stuff. The military will also begin to join resistance in large numbers after they figure out the game. Yes, top ranks have been being purged, but the American military has a two-century deeply engrained tradition of duty, honor and country. It remains with the middle ranks in abundance and in healthy incidence among the lower ranks. That is why there has been such an effort to smear and vilify local police forces and the military for the last few years: they are the officials most likely to side with the people against the government in a manufactured crisis. Any wedge that can be driven between the people and such officials buys federal plotters a little more time.

Now, several caveats…first, there is no guarantee that the opening shots will be general or comprehensive. The size of the country, in fact, suggests that if several localized operations could be successfully mounted, it would make it easier ultimately to exert control. Such an effort would not likely be geared towards conservatives or Christians, as that would alert others in other areas to be on their guard and foment more, rather than less effective resistance. Take down Utah and you are going to have Texas, Wyoming, Montana and others armed to the teeth and loaded for bear. Better to take down some Islamic terror cell or left-wing terror group using the tactics you intend. That both gives you practice in real-world terms and defuses conservative and Christian opposition – perhaps gaining even some scattered support before they figure out they are the ultimate targets here.

A long-shot but very productive scenario would be to create massive fear of some of the target groups in the general population. Then you could target them openly with much greater ease. That is why, in every public shooting, the media and government officials have speculated it was some fringe right-wing group responsible – or that it was fueled by right-wing ideology. The hope is always that it will become an excuse to crack down on right wingers generally. But it constantly keeps coming unglued as the perpetrators almost always turn out to be Muslims, genuine crazies, or left-wing moonbats. Oddly, the preponderance of such types does not lead to a generalized crackdown on Muslims or left-wing moonbats. The media and officials can go from demanding a crackdown on conservatives and Christians to calling for no “rush to judgment” as quickly as it turns out, to their disappointment, that once again it was a Muslim or a lefty who perpetrated the outrage. It has become such a commonplace now that it would be too obviously a false flag operation not to trigger serious opposition.

The key to contemplating these things and coming up with scenarios that will bear more resemblance to reality than to an overheated Hollywood potboiler is to keep in mind that the prime objective is to gain as much control as quickly as possible with as little resistance as possible – and the key to that is to get as much voluntary compliance as possible. That means using fear, misdirection, and offering the illusion of soothing safe harbors. There are many possible variations on the basic scenario, but all of them will have the same key objectives.

Also, remember that this is the beginning of the elite officials’ destruction, not yours – though it won’t look that way for at least a month and probably more. Keep steady, don’t panic, be deliberate and do not give counsel to your fears, however much they rise in your gullet. Keep your head low early, seek to be unnoticed, and your moment will come.

Tomorrow I will cover some practical advice for people who flee on foot, based on my experience on pilgrimage and informed by counsel from military people who have lived in the wilderness for extended periods of time.

Wait on the Lord. Be of good courage and He shall strengthen thine heart. Wait, I say, on the Lord. – Psalm 27

Hi, Charlie. Thank you so much for your articles. I firmly believe the Lord has given us real practical and spiritual help for these incredible times through the Holy Spirit-inspired writings of Pelianito, Mark Mallett and you. I realize you are not giving timelines, but I wonder if you might shed light on this: I read in at least 2 comments here that something big is going to happen here (US) in the next 1-6 months? Is that true, do you think? Or do we have more time?

When I wrote that piece, it was in response to a lot of cock-eyed thinking on some survival sites that had seeped into some Christian sites. Serious Christians would be a primary target, but not the only target. In any case, that danger is largely over. The powers that be have already squandered their moral authority even as their egos continue to inflate. If they tried something like this now they would immediately be met with large-scale resistance in nearly every corner of the country.

When Jesus ascended into Heaven with the Apostles and the other disciples looking on, two Angels appeared and asked them ” Why do you stand looking at the sky?”.
In other words “Get busy !!”
This line was to jolt them back to “their” reality.
In the book, The Mystical City of God: Life of the Virgin Mother of God, manifested to Sister Mary of Jesus of Agreda, she was told by Our Lady that Jesus had to leave the Apostles in order that they could mature properly in their faith, otherwise they would end up spineless namby-pambys always waiting on Jesus to tell them the next right step.
He taught them all the right steps and left them to use them in the wisdom of the Holy Spirit whom He sent later, but THEY made the decisions AFTER they received instruction and Jesus said these decisions would be bound on earth and in Heaven.
Charlie gives us sensible, reasonable knowledge to ponder with our God given wisdom to use as we see fit in our own personal world events which will be totally different for each of us. So God will judge us according to our “works” in these times and we are totally responsible for what we say and do and Charlie or the Angels are not supposed to be spoiler alerters, just plot advisers.
This is why he cannot give me a “Heads up, Phil” analysis, because he has no idea what “I” am going to encounter personally. Therefore, I will rely on HIS wisdom to inform MY wisdom as to up and coming events, but I will rely on the Holy Spirits wisdom to help me circumvent these trials in a proper, holy, ordered fashion and to accept all as Gods will in my life, come what may.
    Pray for us all here!

My 18 yo son just came in later than I like, so, I’ve been doing what a mother does: I’ve been thinking. Thought to share… my adult and semi adult children use GPS almost exclusively, and the younger are conditioned to get on the school bus as told to… I think we’ll have some talks and training. The older ones need to know where we live in relation to places they often go, in case they need to move towards home, on foot, without benefit of gps, so we’ll study maps, talk about the directional points, the time of day, and how to know where to direct themselves to stay safely on the way towards home. And I’ll impress upon them the need to use deliberate judgement and prayer if faced with a strange occurrence while, say, at school…

Ha, my nephew once was using his GPS to guide us back to my son’s home from Tallahassee. We were obviously going the wrong way (the position of the sun and all). I told him just let me use my map..that I’m a mean man with a map…and we’d be fine. He laughed at me and my “old school” ways. We got lost enough that they decided to try it my way. So I started directing them…telling them which streets would be up ahead and where to turn and all. Had it solved quickly. My nephew…with a big grin, gave me a high five and said, “Old school ROCKS!”

I don’t even remember the brand, Donette. Maybe a Coleman. It was full-size for extended hikes…and I had things strapped to the outside of it – sleeping bag and my trumpet. I would not start off with 75 lbs. I worked up to that…but I started off with 40 lbs. I could carry 90 after a few months…but I could feel the strain of it…and there is an ideal weight you get a feel of. While I could carry 90 easier after a few months than I could carry 40 at the start, the strain on my lower muscles made it much more likely I would sprain an ankle or pull a muscle. You get the feel of what works for you after a while. But I would not start with more than 40.

Charlie, I may be jumping the gun on your part 2, but I did want to provide links to some pretty standard FEMA and American Red Cross Individual and Family Planning information (documents, courses, lists, etc.) that is available for free on-line. These have been around for quite some time and provide not only the basics but cover specific needs such as preparedness for the elderly, infirm/disabled, children, preparing a bug-out-bag / Go-kit, etc. Some of the materials use a comprehensive planning approach, which is basically identifying the major functions that are usually required in any disaster/major emergency, such as communications, evacuation, emergency supplies, health and safety, transportation, etc. The course material is self-guided and are a relatively easy read. This may get some that are new to the subject of emergency preparedness a place to start.

I am an Norwegian living in Denmark. We Norwegians (some of os) want to use the lovely nature in Norway. I have been skiing in the mountains 6-10 houers a day for a week with a 10-15 kg. bacpak. Coming to a planned cabin where there where food. Sometimes dried and cannned food we had to coock ouerself. Sometimes the cabin had a staff that made the meals. I have been doing the same walking in the summer. It is wonderfull and hard to do this, and you challenge yourself in all possible hard ways. (It can be combared with giving bith to a child. (I have tre children.) It needs a LOOOOT of mental resources. I found out that I was only as big as an ant in that big nature.
I did not have a telt, sleepingbag, food, facilities that can coock food. I have packed very thougtfully and clever. If I should pack a backpack for this cenario, I would not be able to walk. I had to have a lot of weigh on my chulders. And if you have children with all that fills.
When you walked your tremendues walk, MacDonals, money, people whith food exisded. In the coming cenario, people will not have food. We will have to live of what we find in the nature. (We will be slim.)
It will be difficult for a lot og people. I work whith people whith psykic problemes. I have often want to take some of this people to Norway to go skiing or walking, but many will not have the mental skills to do this.

Yes, I can second that about pack-weight. I’ve done the entire Camino de Santiago. You always start off with too much weight. Depends on so much: terrain, heat, cold, elevation… Well, being from Ireland and not used to too much heat, that’s a problem (rain, wind… yup, we do that, but heat, well , 80 degrees is nearly too hot for us). Footwear is all-important. And a stick you can lean on. And water. Clean socks, underwear. So much, but not insuperable. Careful preparation is the key.

Charlie: your pilgrimage, wow! The Camino is childsplay in comparison.

        Blessings to all. J.

Having a simple poncho or even rain attachment is crucial. If your stuff gets soaked, it weighs a LOT more until it dries out. I had to spend three days drying out in Mississippi right after Ash Wednesday in 2011 so my stuff would dry out.

Really? You brought your trumpet? Did you play it? I have thought many, many times about bringing my mandolin along wherever I end up going and it makes no sense to me at all. But then, neither does carrying around a trumpet! I’ll take it as it comes but it has occurred to me that sometime down the line we might be needing music.

This brings me great joy!! I have felt for quite a few years that something big was coming, so several Christmases ago we gave each of our 10 children (and spouses) musical instruments. Each instrument had a different Scripture verse attached to it that made reference to “making a joyful noise unto the Lord”. Christmas morning was priceless! A room full of laughing and “Mom’s lost it.” I said, “I can go without a lot, but not music, so learn to play these things!” Charlie, I’ll be listening for your trumpet! I know you said to lie low and go unnoticed, we’ll try to keep it to a dull roar in our neck of the woods! Peace.

I love it, Susan! Whenever I hear a bunch of lively kids making a racket, I think that the Lord is delighted…for there is the joyful noise. Of course, I was the oldest of six kids and I have had kids around me all my life, so I delight in their antics. When they were little, my kids knew that if they had got into some mischief that set me off, all they had to do was make me laugh and the danger was passed. It was pretty easy to do – but my kids became experts in deflecting tense situations with humor.

    This is breathtaking.
Gosh, I can’t imagine the price you paid to be able to share this with us. It is pure gold. You must have taken such great care with writing this. I did love improving my vocabulary with “remoras”.
I am wondering about fleeing to the state and federal parks. Will the rangers be alert to people trying to flee and will they be there or helping at the Fema camps. Will it depend on the ranger? I am sure you don’t know the answers to these, just pondering out loud.
Yikes, I can’t imagine making it to a wilderness area only to be arrested and taken to a camp! 😉
I do talk to my guardian angel frequently. Sometimes I am sure he answers me and sometimes I can’t hear anything.
But more importantly, Charlie, I have been overwhelmed by what you have said, even though I was telling people about Fema camps ten years ago. It is really here. I am glad God has a plan. The only thing to do is to cling to Him, be steady, “and having done all, to stand.” (or hike). And I would think, if we start to flee and see someone who needs our help, our job is to help, even if it means not being able to flee.

You called to mind something amusing, Narnia. Once when I had been in the wilderness for a while in California, I came to a state park. I laughed out loud, for it suddenly hit me after thinking, “Ah, civilization,” that most people get there and think, “Ah, wilderness.”

Charlie, I’ve been finding it difficult to find comments ever since your traffic exploded. You have your WordPress Settings for comments set to divide comments into more than one page once the number of comments goes over 100 or so. This means that links to older comments stop working, because the comment-page-1 is now hidden in effect. I would like to suggest that you reset your Comments settings so that comments will list only on one page from oldest downward toward newest. I realize that this will make more popular posts a bit harder to load for those with lower speed internet service. However, it will greatly improve everyone’s ability to search for comments.

WordPress has a settings area for comments. Here is an article (note it has two pages) that discusses these settings. I’ve put in links to both pages here:

    1) https://en.support.wordpress.com/comment-display-options/

    2) https://en.support.wordpress.com/comment-display-options/2/

I think you have these settings set now as follows:
1 Checked — Comment author must fill in name and email.
2 Checked — Users must be registered and logged in.
3 Not Checked — Automatically close comments in articles more than 14 days old.
4 Checked — Enable threaded comments “5” levels deep.
5 Checked — Break threaded comments into pages with “100” comments (150 comments?) each and the “last” page displayed by default.
6 Checked — Comments should be displayed with the “older” comments at the top of each page.

I recommend that you consider changing Number 5 setting to UNCHECK it. This will cause *all* comments to list from older to newer down the page that contains your post, still in threaded layout. People will be able to search for a specific comment or specific comment author by going to the Post page and searching for that in their browser, or find a comment by searching for its number. The cost is slightly longer load times for popular pages, but I think the gains in being able to find things more easily will outweigh the longer load times.

If you like the way things work now, please feel free to keep your comments settings as they are. However, I’m bringing this up because of my own difficulties finding things, even when I know the author or the comment’s number. I suspect others are having similar problems but may not know why they can find some things but not others. Unchecking the box on Setting 5 should be a help to me, so I am naturally assuming it will help others. Yes, as always it is all about me, me, me! 😀

    Hi Charlie,

Forgive me if I’m asking something that you already answered, but I don’t think anyone has brought this particular question up. When the government collapes is it the Military that comes together to try to start rebuilding after the crash? I was thinking someone in charge has got to arrange the alliance between our country and Russia, and also have a battle plan to fight China. Also, this question has nothing to do with anything important, chalk it up to my curiosity, I was wondering if Jesus or your Angel ever lets you see what “Menses” is up to at any particular time? Or was he just shown to you that one time so you knew the anti-christ when he came on the world scene. Be gentle with me now Charlie for that insignificant question.

Marita, I have said that new order will re-emerge – and that you may see a procession of “leaders” early on before things stabilize. After they do, there will be a leader and America will be able to act as a nation. I am shown very little about the period of chaos…just to keep my head low mainly. I know some things about the new order that emerges – and expect to play some role in it in fact, but I am not allowed to discuss the details of it…many of which I do not know.

AS for Menses, I want to re-iterate that I have NOT said he is the antichrist -and I do not believe he is. He is given over entirely to the spirit of antichrist and to satan, so he may be. In any case, he is a very bad actor who plays at being a very good actor – and will deceive many very orthodox Catholics.

This leads me to believe that something very upsetting will happen in the church …..and many traditional/orthodox Catholics will leave and follow this nasty M character.
This sounds like a schism that beats all schisms. This is aweful! This also leads me to believe…..through your wording……that perhaps the wretched M character is a…..member of the church and is perhaps in the hierarchy. No …..regular joe could lead orthodox Catholics astray unless he was in the hierarchy or from sspx. This is just aweful.
On another note……thanks for all the great tips on Gemma camps. I learned something. If we have to go there……then so be it. We will keep low profiles and be missionaries of love in the camp. God bless!

          Charlene,
Your comment reminded me of the life of Corrie ten Boom. For those who may not be familiar with her, she was a member of a strong Christian family living in Holland during WW2. When the Germans occupation of Holland began, she and her family hid Jews in their home. Eventually, she was sent to a prison camp, where she had a vibrant ministry to the other prisoners and saw God work mightily. Her biography, The Hiding Place, is a great book to consider as we make spiritual preparations for the possibility of spending time in a FEMA camp setting. http://www.christianbook.com/the-hiding-place-corrie-ten-boom/9780553256697/pd/56696

Another pertinent title is If I Perish by Esther Ahn Kim. She was a Christian teacher who refused to participate in the idol worship required at the school where she taught in Japan during WW2. She was imprisoned for her faith and, like Corrie ten Boom, was used by God to bring His message of salvation to her fellow prisoners, and even to some of her captors.

If we are sent to the camps, although it will *appear* that we are being sent as prisoners, the reality is that we are being sent as God’s ambassadors to bring the light of salvation into a very dark place where it is very needed… From a spiritual point of view, It will be a very great honor that the Lord is granting us. May God fill us with courage for whatever he asks of us…The stories of the lives of these women may help us as we read how they survived and even thrived through difficult times.

No Lin! All is not “Lost” but all too many may will be! Let’s not get in the Defeatist Mindset of .. “Oh! It won’t be too bad in the Camps.” I’m guessing many millions in the WWII Nazi/Japanese, Communist (1919-Present) and currently Islamic Camps thought/think the same thing …… even in our USA history the Indian “Reservations” and Civil War POW Camps were horrific and the Japanese-American Internment Camps though not horrific destroyed many lives!
It has ALREADY happened HERE and will happen AGAIN!! Camps will be a Focus of Evil and will destroy lives and Faith. I hope and Pray that the “Camp” I end up in will be a Christian Refuge manned and guarded by People of Faith guided by the Holy Ghost and Angelic Host ……….. and we must acknowledge the fact that, if all unfolds as many here think, some of us will be expected to sacrifice to protect the young-n-weak … even if that means we become a “Soldier in The Forlorn Hope”.

Oh dear, Crewdog…I think you misunderstood my intent and my focus here! I, personally, intend to do my level best to stay out of the camps; and I know, from much reading over the years, of the atrocious living conditions and torment suffered by the inmates of camps of the past.

My intent was not to lull any of us into complacency, with the thought, “Oh, the camps won’t be so bad…” I know that life in camp will be far from singing around campfires and roasting ‘smores. I see camps as being the “belly of the beast”, a place I desperately hope to avoid. The thought of entering one makes my stomach knot up. But isn’t it likely that some of us may end up in a camp, despite all our prayers and best efforts to avoid it? And in that case, wouldn’t it be good to be prepared to do battle there?

I pray, that if end up in a camp, to be like the authors of the books I mentioned. They endured great suffering, but kept their faith and even managed to have compassion for their captors, by the grace of God.

So no worries…I’m not caught in a defeatist attitude at all, but rather one of preparation for the worst while hoping for the best. These autobiographies encourage me that, even if I do end up in a camp, God will be with me and will give me the honor of working for Him, even there in such dark conditions.

I was checking out some info on FEMA camps, and came across this article. I have driven past the gate of this prison on the way to visit a friend of mine who lives north of Wilton. NY State is very short of space for prisoners, and yet this facility is being held empty. We watch this news show on local TV, so I know the newscasters in the video — they are the real, normal anchors and reporters that are on channel 13 here all the time. This is entirely legitimate. If you “Bing” or “Google” Mt McGregor Correctional, you can see aerial shots and pictures of it. It is in a woodsy, out-of-the-way area. The attitude of Lt. Dorn is outrageous. I am kind of shocked, to tell the truth.

There are more infiltrators than we realize, Ellen. But they overestimate their own strength. Right now there are many people who are dismissive of dire scenarios, but are good, sturdy honorable people. When those given to scheming show their face, they will be shocked at how many who were dismissive rise to the fore in defense of what they love. Think of Great Britain after the invasion of Poland. The day before, the overwhelming majority was for “peace” and appeasing Hitler and doing whatever it took to avoid conflict or to overstate the danger. The day after that danger showed the fullness of its true nature, thos skeptics rose in unison with those who had been warning them to confront and defeat the evil. The honorable will rise however quick or slow they are to recognize the threat.

Mick, I have read both articles and would like to share a potential scenario that comes from what Charlie stated. Border protection and immigration have been a political hot-button recently, with the current administration going to extreme lengths to avoid implementing protection of our borders. Now, with the scenario that Charlie laid out, there is the potential that the administration is fully aware of the ISIS camps listed, as well as the threat our porous border presents. They could very well be counting on our border to provide the trigger (catastrophe) they need to implement their plans for seizing control. Imagine if a group of terrorists were to get across the border and set off a nuclear device, or even a dirty-bomb. Then imagine it happening in multiple places. The government could then issue an evacuation order to be in place “until the crisis passes”. Start rounding people up. Allow several more attacks. Implement martial law for the sake of “security”, round up more people (who, by this time, are much more willing to be rounded up). The first article listed above could just be the precursor to the atrocities. I do not say this with certainty, just to give a potential point of view. My message is to be observant and analyze all actions critically. Don’t focus on just one aspect, as you may miss the true meaning of a particular sign. To paraphrase my brother, “be prepared and watchful for the real crisis as well as the false flag”.

Steve and Mick, I remember reading what I felt were pretty credible reports a few years ago that the government (spearheaded by DHS) wanted to create a false flag. The plan was to “find” a group of terrorists in a remote area of the southwest US, take them out, and find a dirty bomb and evidence for others. This would enable DHS to play the Hero role *and* to create an excuse to shut down various cities on a snipe hunt for other radiological bombs (papers found at the terrorist site were to have said more had been smuggled in around the same time). Once the original scare were to calm down as no further bomb was found, then a dirty bomb would be found or even detonated in a US city and ratchet up the fear. Other credible reports said that the Libyan Benghazi mess actually interrupted a plan to bring the materials for dirty bombs back to the US for this plan.

Charlie has stated that prayers helped shorten the time of the Storm from 5 years to 3, when the Storm was originally supposed to start in its violent fullness back in 2012. That was the year the plan I describe was supposed to happen. Either just before or just after the 2012 election. Events prevented the implementation of the plan, or it was not required after all (I think the former, given my remarks about Benghazi).

I presume such a plan could still be implemented, and it is a workable way to create the conditions the government would want, but now it would be only one of several crises.

I should also note that we are all well into the three years before the Rescue very late in 2017, so the term of the worst of the Storm appears to be shortening month by month, at least for us in the US. A lot of people must be praying a lot to have obtained such a dispensation.

Charlie, I appreciate all your advice. I feel so fearful right now in this intermediate normal/not normal state of things. I am trying to go through my day to day things as if nothing is wrong, and yet somehow prepare for when things are ‘wrong’. With limited time and money (but enough of each that if used properly would make a difference), I am trying to figure out what is most important. I don’t want to take unnecessary risks and be foolish, but I also don’t want to be too cautious and do nothing. When the time and money is gone though, it’s gone, and I want to have mostly done the right things with it.

I have this feeling or fear that this winter, we are either going to be eating from our garden, or fleeing into the wilderness on foot. And it feels crazy to think that, never mind say that! Thank you for the heads up, that being rounded up into camps would be stated as ‘for our own good’, and if we are going to flee, that is the time to do so. I agree with another commenter that thinking perhaps God might want me in a camp causes me concern. How do I know what He would want, when my desire to flee is so strong?

In case you haven’t noticed, my main vice is pride. Since I read about that last week or so, following your link, I have had several experiences that have rather shook me (and more, if I think of all the things that have happened in last few years), that I don’t know everything, can’t solve everything, can’t take care of everything. In a moment, I could lose it all from a car, a bug bite, or ‘flu’. Anyway, I have to go now, but those are my thoughts at the moment. Thanks kindly for all that you do.

Lily, Charlie (and I here) would counsel you to exercise ordinary prudence. Don’t spend money you don’t have or will need for normal expenses. If you could spend money on something to help you prepare or spend a little time praying, I suspect you will be better off with the prayer.

I don’t have much money, but I’ve been able to set aside a little bit of preps so that I can be calm(er) during the few weeks after the Collapse occurs. However, beyond that, I lack money *and* I lack much in the way of spiritual prodding to do more preps. It’s an odd feeling, to know intellectually that I should prepare, to know that those who aid me in spirit will help me get what I will need, and have them stay pretty silent and not support much in the way of preps. I’ve had to conclude that they don’t want me to be more prepped than the minimal amount I’ve already done and that I’ve got pretty much all that I need already.

This is not about being prepared, although some simple preps can help. It’s about acknowledging God first and trusting Him. I feel you will do fine no matter what you can or cannot do in terms of preps. A few pre-game jitters seem reasonable to me.

Better to be calm and in God’s hands than prepped to your roof and afraid.

Whew! Although my son had talked about fema camps before and then Charlie talked about them a bit before, when I read this yesterday it shook me. Later, I had lunch with my brother’s girlfriend, who I’ve known since childhood. She, and my brother, are liberals, into new age, Zen, etc., always coming up with even new ways to mash together all religions and science to find that perfect well-being. I listened to her talk for over two hours and felt like I was having a stroke. They have no inkling of what’s happening, are only concerned with themselves and their stuff, and think I’m just dumb and naïve. They are intellectuals, I am not. By the time I got home (about 25 miles away), I was shaking. It hit me that they and others in my family will not listen to anyone else. And, there are many, many others like them.

I’ve felt overly sensitive lately, and having experiences that help me to remember what Charlie’s been saying here and there for months. For example, making my “no” mean NO and my “yes” mean YES. This is hard for me to explain. By not speaking clearly or being firm on my answers, I’ve been scammed, ignored, and not taken seriously. I think some of it has been fear of backlash. It seems that every time something gets messed up due to a decision I’ve made halfhearted, it relates to a lesson I’ve learned here. There have been good experiences too. It’s actually pretty amazing.

On a happy note, I have seen a couple of Charlie’s Prayer of Miraculous Trust cards on a table at my little church! I had given some other holy cards away, but didn’t have any of those then. Now, if only I could find the other one(s) who belong to this (Charlie’s) family who might be right here in this little town and small church! I’m looking forward to those buttons! Thank you.

Ha, Audie…George Orwell once remarked that a particular idea was “so absurd only an intellectual would believe it.”

Amusing, but there is a serious reality behind it. Some very smart people do not use their intelligence to find truth; but to persuade themselves that whatever nonsense they come up with is plausibly true. Vanity is the downfall of many an intelligent person, just as bullying is the downfall of many a strong person.

The funny thing is they think they have come up with something new, but it is just the old pantheism with pagan overtones risen again. It was so decisively discredited with St. Thomas Aquinas striking the final mortal blow, that only when mass ignorance took hold could people think it something both new and credible again.

That is so very true, Charlie. It’s also what is behind the Vatican’s concern about the LCWR. While there are so many good sisters, the LCWR promotes a kind of theology that is basically New Age. Last year they had as their keynote speaker Sr Ilia Delio, who is a self-described “panentheist.” (I don’t go to those meetings or even belong to the LCWR but I looked into what they are promoting.) The problem with this panentheism is that it basically makes God dependent on the world. I think that is the root error. Unfortunately the media coverage completely glossed over this, making it seem like the Vatican was being terribly hard on the sisters. But in reality there is much to be concerned about. And yes, St Thomas long ago explained why they are wrong.

Michelle, I like the idea of a “little detour”. 😉 There were many foreign beliefs that I could no longer accept. I was told that Jesus was just an “avatar”, that I could still be a Christian and a Catholic and still practice what they taught. It was enticing at first because it appeared mysterious. I do believe that God gave me signs throughout, both good and bad, to help me see I was on the wrong path. There was all this twisting of truth. I watched as the teachers did not have better lives, but eventually crumbled as mine was also crumbling. The initial joy, happiness, peace and “love” was replaced by anxiety, depression, self-centeredness, and anger. It was a process that took a couple years, but God did not give up on me. It was like the scales fell off my eyes finally.

Very thought provoking article, however, one has to wonder why? Why would the US Government want/need to collect the population in small camps? The logistics alone stagger the mind. Feeding, medical, clothing, water, sanitation. Then you need to organize work groups and for what? What would they do? The business world of the US has just been brought down to a stop. Refineries, Steel plants, farms, stores, EVERYTHING is closed now. Why would we need to stop all means of production and therefore taxes coming to the government? Once you have them there, what do you do with them?

TexasScout, throughout history groups of “intellectuals” and those who consider themselves “enlightened” have felt that they alone (or their group of fellow intellectuals) have discovered the path to a peaceful and prosperous existence. They attempt to enforce their vision on others and meet resistance. At this stage, they see no other option than to force their vision on people, for their own “good”. They are so enamored with their own brilliance that they cannot see the fallacy of their policies. When pockets of resistance rise up, they attempt to put it down, justifying it by telling themselves that the ends justify the means, and if they can only stop the “rabble-rousers” from inflaming the people, they can get people to actually see the benefits of their vision and the brilliance of their intellect. Next, when their plans fail miserably and publicly, they blame the failures on the people and initiate imprisonment, torture and executions to punish those that have caused the “setbacks”, all the while positive in their conviction that their way is the only true way. This, my friend, is the perceived purpose served by implementing such insane actions.

However I believe, I have to believe, that we would never allow that to happen here. The military would never involve themselves in a whole scale denial of our freedoms. TexasScout, I don’t think this (whatever the event will be) is something that will be obvious. I think it will be something like Charlie described, an event or events that will be shrouded with lies. Look at 9.11, to this day most people still believe it was planes that brought down the towers when there is a tone of evidence that proves something all together different happened there. Look at the JFK assassination, again, most people think it was a lone gunman. There a many examples of similar things.

People in North America and in Weatern Europe seem to have lost basic reasoning and problem solving skills. Logic in thinking is no longer something that is strived for, assessed or considered. People now-a-days are very easily manipulated.

Germany, during Hitlers time, wasn’t a poor uneducated county. How in the world did they descent to such moral deprivation? One small step at a time. It’s not like there were public service announcements stating “what you are watching is propaganda”. Most people that are being brained washed or subject to propaganda don’t realize it is happening. That’s the point of it.

Today if you were to ask any random person on any street in the U.S. to name a “free” country, they would likely say the U.S. I highly doubt anybody would say that the U.S. is on its way to becoming a Totalitarian state (of it already isn’t one).

So to answer you question, how do we get to what Charlie is describing from where we are… slowly, one step at a time, with lots of lies and misdirection.

          Hope that helps!

Much to ponder, Gabi. However, I should note that I fully believe 9-11 was exactly what it appeared to be. I have read pseudo-technical texts explaining how jet fuel does not burn hot enough to have caused that. That is utterly irrelevant…it does not need to. All it needs to do is to ignite other things that DO burn hot enough. A match does not burn hot enough to melt steel. Magnesium does. And magnesium is easily ignited with a match. As for the Kennedy assassination, the only thing I have ever seen remotely credible that posits a conspiracy that does not do violence to the actual forensics is Stephen Hunter’s work of fiction, “The Third Bullet.” Gerald Posner spent a decade massively researching and testing the forensic evidence along with exhaustive detective work. He produced “Case Closed,”, which methodically blew the conspiracy theories out of the water.

There are two types of easy avoidance of reality: the first is credulity, to believe everything at face value without examination. This leads to denial. The second is cynicism – to disbelieve most everything without serious examination. Reflexive cynicism is as mindless as reflexive credulity – only it allows people to think they are in the know without doing any real heavy lifting. I used to tell staffers assigned to research things that I neither wanted to hear things through rose-colored glasses nor through doom-saying. I had to make decisions and I wanted good, solid, vetted information to enhance my chances of making solid decisions.

Sometimes there is a “man behind the curtain” and we need to be aware of that. But sometimes, as Freud once famously said, a cigar is just a cigar.

This may be a very silly question but in the “window” do you think it would be possible to hop a plane and leave the country? If initially the powers that be are encouraging people to move to these camps insisting that it’s “for their own good” but not using any force, I would assume that it would be a possibility since they wouldn’t want to make a big stink about shutting down air travel. I would also be inclined to think that initially, movement within the country would be possible because people wouldn’t be forced to do anything, just encouraged. Once enough people would be in these camps then people would be moved to these camps forcefully and movement would be restricted and limited, if not completely disallowed.

They have been waging a low grade war on the traditional American mind from the beginning, pushing it ever closer to rebellion. In my opinion, they will keep it right on the edge until election time nears and then they will tip the dominoes, foment a national crisis, declare emergency powers, and try to prevent the 2016 election that way. Why? Because they are terrified of the payback that they believe will come their way when they no longer command the powers of office. Why do they believe that will happen? Because payback is what they’d do and it’s what they have been doing when they treat disagreement as a direct attack on them and something to be paid back for.

Sadly, Europe has enfeebled itself and will not play a big role in how this plays out except to get kicked around by powers that have not enfeebled themselves. When Russia does some ugly things, I have mixed emotions. On the one hand, I hate to see it. On the other, I am glad they have not enfeebled themselves – even if it is now disordered – for we are going to need them to be strong before all is said and done.

But one thing is sure: no matter what role any particular nation has in what is upon us, the faithful Christian communities in each are what will be hold the nation up and away from extinction.
