A Little Housekeeping

I am getting ready to head southeast for a family celebration before making some visits. A couple of items first:

My coordinators for my visit to Tampa, Florida next month are asking for some volunteers to help make arrangements. It will actually be held in the Florida town of Sebring, just a bit southeast of Tampa. You can reach them at joknee_99@yahoo or rowelinn@gmail.com if you can help.

Last year, some folks from Birmingham, Alabama were disappointed that despite holding a lot of private meetings there, I did no public function. I will be spending time in Birmingham again next month – with a bunch of private meetings again. If you want a public meeting, someone will have to step up. There are several people I can direct you to who will help you, but they are being kept busy planning my other private meetings. Currently I am leaving Thursday, May 12, open for a public meeting in or near Birmingham. If you want to volunteer to host and get something together, contact my volunteer assistant, Mary, at lovedbyhim1026@gmail.com. If I just get an extra day off, I won’t complain, but I will be glad to visit if someone hosts.

Some people asked whether anyone can sign up for the retreat I will speak at in Danville, Illinois on Memorial Day weekend. You can register at avemariaretreatcenter.org. For more information contact mary.timmons32061@gmail.com. You can get information on all these things by clicking on “Upcoming Events” in the bar at the top of the Page.

I will be writing soon about the situation with David Daleiden and Planned Parenthood. Though the media did not touch it, there was a Congressional subcommittee hearing last week where compelling evidence was revealed that Planned Parenthood is, indeed, engaged in widespread and organized trafficking in the organs of dead babies for profit. There are several other developments that make it clear why Planned Parenthood and their fellow travelers in the governmental-media complex have snarled and attacked like vampires. If this were a Star Wars movie, we would be rolling the opening credits of “Return of the Jedi.”

Sometime back, a gentleman named John Sill asked my permission to include the Prayer of Miraculous Trust in a prayer book he was compiling. I gladly gave him permission. He very graciously sent me a courtesy copy of his now-published book, “In This Time of Mercy.” It is published by ACTA Publishing of Chicago. You will find this particular prayer on page 25. He has all the great prayers in the book, and a lot of elegant ones that are not so well known. It is available in either hard cover or paper back.

About charliej373

Charlie Johnston is a former newspaper editor, radio talk show host and political consultant. From Feb. 11, 2011 to Aug. 21, 2012, he walked 3,200 miles across the country, sleeping in the woods, meeting people and praying as he went. He has received prophetic visitation all his life, which he has vetted through a trio of priests over the last 20 years, and now speaks publicly about on this site. Yet he emphasizes that we find God most surely through the ordinary, doing the little things we should with faith and fidelity. Hence the name, The Next Right Step. The visitations inform his work, but are not the focus of it. He lives in the Archdiocese of Denver in the United States.

God bless you Charlie! Praying for you. While I don’t need to read what you have to say about the time we are living in to know how bad it is, I ALWAYS feel peace and strength when I read your posts. I need the encouragement of all here and I pray for all of you, as well.

Charlie, I hope you have enough time off to thoroughly enjoy your son’s wedding and all of the friends and family that will be gathered there with you – even a Sherpa needs R&R sometimes! What joy!

On another note, it is snowing again in northern New England and we cannot blame it on you!

Hi Charlie. Are the talks that you have planned for next month all similar? I would like to go to at least one of them.

It has often been acknowledged here that in today’s world one doesn’t need prophecy to see what has/is unraveling before us. Take a look at an opinion page in today’s local paper. Notice the cartoon at the top of the page as well as the title of a talk to be given in the UM’s “President Lecture Series.” Just as you have maintained, Charlie, the Old Ways are dead. Soon enough, it will be so obvious to all that no one can deny it any longer. (Thank you, God, for your Great Plan to Rescue us, unfolding before our eyes, even as the old order passes away.)

Charlie, it may not be Socci and Bowring who are agents to bust wide open a schismatic fray, but there certainly seem to be forces rising from additional sides as the evil one whips up the waves of chaos and confusion: http://ncronline.org/news/theology/fr-hans-kung-says-francis-responded-request-free-discussion-infallibility-dogma

It’s not the content of the article itself that concerns me as I see Pope Francis will dialogue about anything. It’s the growing vehemence of dissatisfaction with His Holiness as expressed from many who have worked for years within the Church to promote orthodoxy. I notice, article after article, expressing disgust with Pope Francis while sounding a ferocious alarm to faithful readers. Within the circle of colleagues who are in this same boat, articles are shared among readers and promoted with an attitude of “Thatta’ Boy!” or “Thatta Girl!”

Of course, I don’t know for sure what will ensue and, like so many, I’m praying for a restoration of calm amidst the fears expressed, often with obvious-to-me anger. In the height of such emotions, it does seems like a more than a few steps into self-righteous condemnation of our Pope and His ways which can readily become a small leap off the Barque of Peter. I’m not afraid, just observing and praying…

Beckita, after I became Catholic 29 years ago, I started receiving trial subscriptions in the mail from various Catholic groups, including those that rejected Vatican II. (Somehow they had gotten my address!) I also picked up and read publications left in the vestibule of our local Catholic Church. These publications tend to represent the attitudes of the various groups.

In the early years, I didn’t have much experience with the range of perspectives within the Church. It took a while for me to sort out which types of groups and publications were joyfully and gratefully “with” the Church and which, while remaining within the Church, basically had an axe or axes to grind.

Eventually I came to identify two (at least) basic responses within my own heart when encountering other Catholics and representative publications:

      1. Wholehearted
      2. The Grinch, whose heart was two sizes too small

They are simple indicators to me of where a person, a group, or a publication tends to stand in relation to the Church, the Pope, etc.

When I read the second paragraph of your post, can you guess which of the two little personal messengers spoke to my heart?

BTW, Beckita, posts expressing your own attitude always bring a smile to my heart.

I receive more than a few as well, Janet. We can do this. I strive to remain steady and speak truth in charity. My response when it gets abrasive and expressed in attack mode back at me: bless, release and shake the dust from my feet. Praying for you, Janet.

Janet, let me know when you want someone punched in the nose. I’ll send my Angel. He will wallop the silliness out of them. We can only do this on Earth. You can’t punch someone in the nose in heaven it’s in the heaven welcome manual.😯😇

If we go back a few decades we see it has all happened before. We all know the lies and distortions surrounding Pius X II and the Nazi’s. We know how the media stirred up the confusion over Vat II. Pope St John XXIII and Blessed Pope Paul VI had their share of critics. And can you imagine the shock horror when the new rite of the Mass was introduced in 1969..and then.. Communion in the hand? Pope St John Paul II didn’t escape the critics either..the photos of him kissing the Koran are still all over the internet. Pope Benedict had his fare share of problems too. His membership in the Hitler Youth…lifting the excommunication of Catholic bishop, Richard Williamson, who denied the extent of the Holocaust. The condom confusion…

Yes we’ve been here before… but this is different in that many condemned Pope Francis even before he made his first official act ..because the time is ripe. Satan has little time left now to do his worst.

          Prayers prayers and more prayers!

It can go back even to the 1800’s when the cardinals had to be snuck into the Vatican hiding from Napoleon.or the Reformation, the Borges, or the Avignon Popes, all the way back to The Rock! Seems like the evil one just can’t leave it alone. No matter what he does it doesn’t work. Our God is amazing.😇

    Heavenly Father:
You have truly shed your grace on America, California and Orange County.
We thank you for the freedom you have given us to be able to live in this great country where we have the liberty to elect our leaders and live in peace.
Help all the people of this country to carefully discern the kind of leadership we need in these troubled times and grant us the wisdom to make the best choice.
    We ask that you grant all our leaders the providence to acknowledge you first;
The courage to do the right thing
and the grace to continue as the beacon of hope to the world.

I am so happy for your son, Charlie, and what an honor to be the best man for his wedding. Enjoy your time with your family!

Looking forward to your writing on David Daleiden and Planned Parenthood. What a brave soul David is and the strength that the Lord has given him to endure all that he has gone through since he started releasing the videos. May God bless him for being such a bright light of hope in such a dark world, and give him the endurance he needs to make it through. Where God closes a door somewhere he opens a window, and I hope he opens the window really W-I-D-E for him!

What a joy, too, that your Prayer of Miraculous Trust is being published in a book of prayers! I love the name of the book and pray that many more will come to know and trust in this beautiful prayer as I have.

Blessings to you on your journey Charlie! Will be praying for you and your family! ~juls

Charlie, I am so excited the Prayer of Miraculous Trust was published in this book! I’m buying a copy! 🔖 but just so you know..I hand wrote it into the front of my little black ‘All Day with God Prayer Book’ first!😉 it was past down to me from my mom, who got it from her dad who got it from his Priest and so it’s getting passed down to my kids and grandkids- they already know it anyway. 📕👪👫👪👫👪
