Fake News on Stilts

The media and political world today are all atwitter over a report from CNN and Buzzfeed that Donald Trump is a Russian agent – and includes salacious details of perverted sex parties Trump supposedly participated in. The establishment media has practically wet itself with enthusiasm over this lurid tale. The only problem is that the story started falling apart almost immediately.

Supposedly, the “information” came from a foreign intelligence agent. As John Podhoretz skeptically noted in the New York Post today, this bore less resemblance to an actual intelligence agent’s report than Dan Rather’s forged memo slurring George Bush. The report also listed specific places that Trump and associates had been – information that can be verified. Some of the most salacious stuff does not pass the first hurdle of verification.  The memo states that in late August Trump’s lawyer, Michael Cohen, secretly met with Kremlin officials in the Czech Republic. As National Review’s Jim Geraghty notes, there is proof that not only was Cohen not there for that date, his passport never shows a trip to the Czech Republic anytime. And at the time he was supposedly cavorting with Kremlin agents, officials at the University of Southern California confirm he and his son were on a visit to the campus.

The smoking gun, though, is that the memo is identical to a fictional account several members of 4chan, a social media platform, wrote for their own amusement in late October. 4chan allows users to post pictures and any story they want – actual, fictional or fake satire. The authors sent the report to anti-Trump GOP consultant Rick Wilson hoping they could troll him. Wilson, in turn, gave it to the CIA which pounced like a hungry trout on a juicy fly and included it in their official CIA classified report. Zero Hedge’s Tyler Durden lays out the full narrative. It is not possible that a couple of guys could have concocted a fictional story several months ago that is identical to the document included in the formal report just issued – unless the fictional account is the basis of that report. (And please spare me any speculation about a million monkeys with a million typewriters).

I used to warn my political clients that our opponents could only wound us, but friends could kill us. I would explain that we reflexively fully vet opponents’ statements – but our friends tell us what we want to hear. If we don’t fully vet them, too, it can lead to a fatal blunder spouting false information. I was as rigorous in vetting “facts” given by friends as those put out by foes (a characteristic readers of this site undoubtedly recognize). It kept us from running with some juicy stuff – but also protected us from fatal errors. The political and media establishment have shown us very clearly what they want to believe.

When I was a newspaper editor, there was a big story I wanted to break as we screamed into deadline. I had reserved the front page for it. Problem was, my rule on stories on which I did not have ironclad documentary evidence, such as a police report, would not run unless I had three independent and credible sources. Unfortunately, I only had two when we hit deadline. An entirely different backup story I had prepared ran on the front page. It is absurd that my standards on a county newspaper group were more demanding than those of today’s national establishment media. It is downright scary that my standards were more demanding than those of the modern CIA.

Both the media and the CIA have utterly beclowned themselves – but we don’t have to. There will undoubtedly be more of this sort of thing. The typical reaction of the beclowned media when they epically fail is to double down in hot rage on the very things that caused the failure in the first place. These things must come. The satan is more brilliant than anyone on earth, but he has a major weakness: his restless and eager malice. The satan strikes at any hint of vulnerability without any effort at discernment whether it is real or only perceived vulnerability. He thought he had won with the crucifixion, only to discover a few days later he had only helped facilitate Christ’s triumph. He does that sort of thing a lot, if not so dramatically, and never learns from it. Do not let malice and accusation get hold of your heart: it will surely lead you to grief. Vet everything whether it is congenial to you or not – and you will secure your reputation for credibility and probity.

The establishment media used to put ugly slants on stories to deceive the gullible. Now they are the gullible. Let us not count ourselves among their ranks. You may, however, take a little enjoyment as pieces of this story fall away like rotted flesh from a shuffling zombie. I know I will.

Thank you, Charlie. Who would have believed we would one day be discussing “the real fake news”?! That we must discern the real fake news from the so called fake news is yet another depravity of leftist frenzy. Ah well… a wise man I know has often said, “And these things must come.” So be it. As did I, once upon a time. And only lost once in the formal arbitration forum, because we checked everything rigourously, otherwise it didn’t run. That didn’t make us popular at times with some managers who just wanted us to “solve” their local problems but our over-riding concern was ” fiat justicia”. 6 bruising years, some awful cases, but what a lesson in objectivity and personal responsibility. Obviously on a different planet to the schmucks who tried to run that Trump “story”.

Glenn Greenwald was a darling of the Left for a long time but recently has come under fire for not toeing the new line. I disagree often with his work but know he brings real thought to it in general. Today he pretty well eviscerates the Left and the Media for using this tactic of fake news and unverified stories in this fairly long but worthwhile article.

The Left thinks it is succeeding but as Charlie has said, it is committing unforced errors and destroying itself in its increasingly obvious collective insanity.

There is the all-powerful Truth and then there is everything else which is inferior, to say the very least.
Jesus told them, “You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks according to his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” John 8:44
When I meditate on the actions of the individuals working within the news media, their sudden shift to just ‘making it up’ and their likely inability to recognize how they spew corruption into the lives of everyone else, it frightens me. Maybe it seems bigger than it really is because these folks are in our homes, in the newspapers, on our tables and on our electronic devises.
I pray for the grace to see how deceit affects my own life and I pray for the grace to run from it. St. John– pray for us.

True Beckita! I love Bishop Barrons Daily Gospel Reflection today:
1ST WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME, YEAR I
        MARK 1:29-39

Friends, in the Gospel of Mark today, we see Jesus in action. We are reading from the section of Mark’s first chapter that gives us a sort of “day in the life” of Jesus. And it is quite a day! Our Gospel opens just after the dramatic expulsion of a demon in the Capernaum synagogue. After entering the house of Simon, Jesus cures Peter’s mother-in-law.

Notice that he takes her by the hand and brings her to her feet so that she can be of service. What does sickness do to us? It draws us in around ourselves. Once she is cured, Simon’s mother-in-law commences to serve, to be for the other. Then the entire town comes to his door. He spends the whole evening curing presumably hundreds who were variously afflicted.

Mark presents Jesus as a healer. Soter, which just means “the bearer of the salus” or health. In him, divinity and humanity have come together; in him, the divine life and divine power are breaking through. God’s deepest intentions for his beloved creatures appears—what God plans for us in the Kingdom to come is now historically anticipated.

Yes, Paul, so it behooves us to make certain we do not do the same to them from misguided perceptions we might suffer.

One of the ways I thought about this mirroring phenomenon is that the splinter one sees in another’s eye could very well be only a reflection of the beam in their own eyes. I thought about it this way because on any particular issue, the person we are looking at may not have any problem or sin on that issue at all. Their eye on the issue may be utterly clear. If so, then any image we see on their eye must be a reflection or mirroring of what is in our eyes.

All of us are human, and all of us have beams in our eyes about some issues but not on all issues. So thinking of the image of the splinter in another’s eye should first and foremost trigger me to make sure I don’t have a beam in my eye. If I remove the beam in my eye *first*, then any reflection I was seeing in the other person’s eye will disappear, telling me that that person did not have a problem with that issue at all. Only if I have first removed my beam can I have a hope of knowing that the splinter I then see in that person’s eye is real.

Although I can’t deny enjoying a little schadenfreude as pieces of this story fall away like rotted flesh from a shuffling zombie, without a valid fourth estate a gov’t or democracy can no longer be held accountable by the people. The fifth column, subversion from within, is far more dangerous than any foreign threat such as Russian interference or even the Nation of Islam ever could be regarding our Republic. If our “intelligence community,” an arm of the Obozo administration and future administrations, is exploiting and colluding with fifth column liberal media we’re in much greater peril than we realize as there are far too many Americans that are eager to embrace such lies.

Charlie, you know after that comment I made concerning the Order of Malta, I saw that I personally do not possess the skill set to vet all of the news that’s flying around. I trusted what I read because of where I read it.. and that’s not always good enough, especially in this time we are in. It was a needed lesson for me and it’s not my calling to get involved in all of this craziness and the conspiracies anyway. It’s a distraction for me. I can’t stand it.
I have decided to let it go- all of it- true or not and pray and wait on God. I honestly do not know what else to do. God wants these people to repent and be saved so that is what I am focusing on now. Praying and waiting on God is all I can do.

And in a sense that is all you should do Snowy Owl. “Jesus I trust in you” is one of the best responses we can give to the craziness of the world. As Charlie has stated, the purpose of prophecy isn’t so we can craft some complex plan to avoid the future, it is so when that future occurs we know (with 20/20 hindsight) that the trust we placed in Jesus was and is the right course. It helps us take the next right step confidently, so we can acknowledge God and be a sign of hope to others. God’s ways are not our ways, they are always superior! How things exactly play out really isn’t and shouldn’t be our concern, that just leads to worry and anxiety which is the antithesis to trusting in God. It is contrary to “Jesus I trust in you”. We should be concerned with doing what is right no matter what happens in our lives. Test all things, take what is good when it comes to prophetic things, but don’t look inward to ourselves, look to God.

      • Amen, Mark. We all need little phrases to keep in the back of our mind in times as these. I remember Charlie saying in one of his talks that the future (seen in his dreams) seemed unimaginable.
After 9/11, reporters were trying to place blame, and comprehend the unimaginable. We need to protect the US by planing against the unimaginable. I remember saying, ” I can’t think like evil.” It is an impossible task to think up every sinerio of evil, in order to protect the US from future attacks.
So, today, as I have followed both the Word and my friend Charlie, I simply place “unimaginable” into Christ Jesus’ hands…
So my phrase that keeps me going…
I can’t imagine the unimaginable. To do so, is a waste of valuable time.
(A person would go mad trying to prevent every evil future attack. I want Christ Jesus. I want my Exsorsist. I want to begin today in Reality, with Him who is Heaven.)
        Love and Peace of Christ.

All this “phony-baloney” stuff invented by the Leftists/Marxists/Communists against President-elect Trump all seems to focus on the tiresome mantra, “Russia did it!”

Well….as noted: Mother Russia was the “darling” of the godless set for lo these many decades. THEY seemed to do everything right and the West seemed to do everything WRONG. Mother Russia was the savior, exemplar, and pattern for the world! FORWARD!

QUERY: Where was this same, (ahem), “devoted” American media for the past 75 years when the Russians were murdering millions of their own people; sending generations to freeze, to rot and to die in the gulags? Imprisoning countless Russians for even a whisper against the Kremlin. Loosing one’s position, job, education, food supply, phone, electric or heat supply for the tiniest of civil infractions–the crime of honest dissent. The individual was literally crushed; the phrase “every nail that sticks up must be hammered down,” was enforced with a vengeance. And hammered they were. All was devoted to the collective–the group. Religion was banned and churches blown up or burned. Priests and religious were murdered, imprisoned, or went underground.

AND YET, all of a sudden, the media and its companions, Hollywood, academia, and all haters of freedom now turn on Russia! Russia is now the “bad guy!” Russia now is the Devil to this godless crowd. I find it fascinating that “the media” now are pit bulls against Russia–the nemesis par excellance.

    FASCINATING!

Their whole world is crumbling before their very eyes since they never recognized TRUTH. And what is TRUTH? It is not a concept nor a theory–TRUTH is a man who walked the earth called Jesus Christ, who is also God incarnate.

When I was reading up on Putin (now I’m not saying I believe what I read) it seems (even though he’s former KGB) that he admired Peter the Great – not Stalin.

        Liked by 3 people

        • I think I’ve read ( sorry, no references — it may be folklore) that he (Putin) goes back further, to Ivan the Terrible and the опричнина (oprichnina, Ivan’s “secret police”, and the fore-runners of the NKVD and the KGB, etc.). If credible, it’s kind of “romantic” in a twisted sort of way, but might explain his devotion to the Russian Orthodox Church. (I’m not convinced that said devotion is genuine, as we would call “genuine,” so those who may know better may freely correct me — and with my gratitude.) That said, in the days of Ivan the Terrible (note that “terrible” here doesn’t mean “horrible,” but rather “to be greatly respected”) the Russian Orthodox Church was very much an agent of the State.. As it has been since, except under Communism, where it was suppressed. I don’t know what it’s relationship to the State is now, under Putin, but I suspect it is more like “business as usual.” Again, corrections are always welcome.

That said, the Russian Orthodox Church has IMHO been the main obstacle to the reunion of the Orthodox churches with Rome. This goes way back, at least to Dostoyevsky time-wise.

In any event, interesting times are ahead. Pope Francis has made some strong overtures to the Orthodox, and perhaps this will bear fruit during or after the Rescue.

It seems that I’ve gone deep into a tangential rabbit hole, so forgive me for drifting off-topic!

They easily changed that truth, so why not others? Back in the 1990’s my in laws went to Medjugorje 3 times. My mother in law had a news like paper in her house based on apparition sites. I know I read a quote that went something like this: Russia will become more like the United States, but the United States will become more like the USSR. Now this was shortly after the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 and the first part of the quote seemed reasonable. The second left me dumbfounded and I thought at the time impossible. And, yet, when you hear what is taught at university, listen to Elizabeth Warren, Hillary Clinton and listen to and watch Obama’s acts …. It all seems a reworking of communism. Even anti Jew sentiment is rearing its ugly head again.

  18. I have been following, promoting and from time to time commenting on this blog for over a year. Due to work and family issues, over the last several months I have commented infrequently. Now as we approach January 20th and the planned Inauguration, just nine days away, I would like to make what may be my final comment here. Over the last couple of days I have taken some additional time to read through various recent posts and the typical comments from a wide range of other readers. Here is what comes to mind …

As we are now in the New Year of 2017 and quickly approach what may or may not be a peaceful transfer of power, there is a clear and expected tension here between those who are focussed on the basic message of Acknowledging God, Taking the Next Right Step and Being a Sign of Hope and those who, while accepting and recognizing the validity of that message, are also rightly focused on the specific prophetic messages regarding the Storm, re: governmental upheaval, Obama’s term, our next leader … lack of a peaceful transfer of power and the hoped for Rescue from Our Lady under Her title as The Immaculate Conception, etc.

It makes sense to me that many who have followed this blog and appreciate Charlie Johnston’s words would come to his defense by placing the focus on the message of AG, TNRS, BSH over any of the specific prophecies. On the other hand, it also makes sense to me that many others, who also accept and appreciate that basic message, realize that this blog would likely not have anything close to the attention it has enjoyed if it had ONLY been promoting the AG, TNRS, BSH message – without the addition of specific prophetic messages; referred to elsewhere as “shiny objects.”

Yes, in the long run the message always means the most … but the prophetic parts of such a message (and the accuracy) have been historically and properly linked to the validity of any who claim to be receiving special mystical messages. Therefore I am personally heartened by the promise to humbly and completely exit the public scene if there is a peaceful transfer of power from the Obama Administration to an incoming Trump Administration.

If there is no upheaval and there is a peaceful or otherwise successful transfer of power to President Elect Trump and his incoming administration and Charlie Johnston humbly follows through with his promise to “go away” then, at least to me, it will speak very highly of his integrity. It is one thing to proclaim the basic message of Acknowledging God, Taking the Next Right Step and Being a Sign of Hope to others and it is quite another to claim to be receiving direct, regular supernatural communications from Heaven.

Those, like me, who have benefited from reading Charlie Johnston’s words should not (in my opinion) start jumping through hoops in an effort to explain all the ways how and/or why God may have relented or that Charlie may have misinterpreted messages, been deceived by powers of Evil, etc. The basic message of the blog stands on its own. It is all solid. As for the prophetic aspects, I believe that neither Charlie nor anyone else on this site should write even one more word trying to defend or explain anything.

The message stands on its own and generally speaking the prophetic is consistent with previously Church approved mystical revelation … If Charlie is wrong on specific times, dates and/or people – so be it. It shouldn’t shake anyone’s faith and if he is wrong on those specifics, and fulfills his promise to “go away” it will speak volumes about his integrity and should actually strengthen your faith. We will all know if he is accurate about the prophecies in just nine more days. If he is accurate on the prophetic and there is such an upheaval … we all better be ready to live the underlying message!

Either way, be Merciful in Deed, Word and Prayer.

    God bless!

Ha! I suppose you are right. In fairness to the CIA, the story, itself, was not published on 4chan. But on a few occasions they publicly gloated on the site that the government was buying their disinformation. The CIA got it from an anti-Trump political operative who had worked both with Republicans and Democrats. Always a red flag in the business. I often met with Democrat operatives and they with me…but none of us ever completely trusted anyone who tried to play for both teams. You get something like that, the most basic thing is to find out how they got it. To put it real bluntly, if an opposition research aide presented me with this at best I would have sent them back to do it over and get me documentation. Give it to me like this twice and they would be fired. This has utterly outraged me…the sloppiness out of eagerness to smear someone.

Some years ago in a small town, in a small school I found myself as president of a PTA. I soon learned how political it could become. One of the board members had actually said to me, “Just throw that false information out there, and see what sticks.” That is the day I went from being a “believer until you prove to be wrong.” To someone who questions both friends and foe before I truly believe what is said.
It scares me that there are people that live with that mentality and I believe it especially lives and breathes in government. Thanks to all of you. I love to read everyone’s comments. There was a guest on who was fro a southern State, claimed to be running for an office in that State. Also claimed that he and Barry O were ‘jumpers to Mars’ while in college. This was part of a ‘secret’ government experiment. He and Barry O were able to ‘jump to Mars’ via instructions given by Mars residents (?) through a type of worm hole! This guest speaker also told us that the President had been contacted for more information and that he was reassured by the President that , after leaving office , he would make a public statement about the validity of this story……Cant wait , can you?

God bless Father Jeremiah and the CFRs.
The Community of the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal

    God’s love: Our primary motivation

In silent prayer we encounter the unconditional love of God. Regardless of who we are, where we have been, or what we have done, silence reveals to us a loving presence that accepts us where we are right now. The reason, I believe, that so many people do not experience this love, is because they have not traveled deeply into their own heart. Most of us live on the surface of life, accepting its shadows, illusions and noise as the sum total of all that life has to offer. Silence takes us deeper, beyond the masks and all that is temporary, and reveals to each one of us the love of God. To discover the love of God is the very purpose of our life. What could be more important than this? After all, everything else passes away, but His love “endures forever.” (Ps 136) Fortunately, one does not have to travel far to encounter this love, it is inside our own hearts if only we can learn to be still. Regardless of our situation and circumstances, “God’s love has been poured into our hearts.”(Rms 5:5) What each one of us has to do, and what is really the work of silent prayer, is to open ourselves to that love, surrender to it and allow it to be the foundation of our lives.

It should be no surprise that the fruits of silent prayer are the fruits of the Holy Spirit; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, fidelity, gentleness and self-control.(Gal 5:22-23) When we open ourselves to God, the love of God revealed in these fruits, becomes a part of our life. Instead of reacting to life from a place of fear and anxiety, a quiet awareness begins to emerge from within, and we no longer need to live as victims of our own emotions or those of others. This transformation, of course, does not happen immediately. Gradually, as we pray in silence each day, the love of God will reveal itself in ever-greater depths.

Perhaps there will be a time when someone will ask you, “Why do you sit in silence?” The answer will come, not from a book, but from the depths of your heart. “I sit in silence because God is in love with me, and by spending time with Him in silence, I am falling more in love with God.”

They believe a vote for Trump was a vote for racism, a white-mans world, and all other ghosts from our past. There doesn’t seem to be a way out for them. Reasoning clearly doesn’t work.

We should see their dispair and panic, pray for them. Also pray that our own dispair and panic is contained by TNRS, should there be a setback, as Charlie has told.

Not too good. There are only two explanations for this continuing foolishness regarding Russia: malice or stupidity. I wonder Charlie, if you could comment on which you think predominates. This is not a prophetic question, but a political analyst one;)

We have a lot of very experienced analysts in government and various think tanks, but how are they incapable of understanding Putin and the Russian mind? What would Putin have to gain by trying to annex Poland? That’s a massive risk, minimal reward proposition. Poland with its weak economy is a financial drain on whatever economic alliance it makes, for example the EU. Why would Russia want another dependent territory? The world is not the same as 1917 or 1950 and the prospect of ideological annexation is not positive now. There is no point in pushing a land border west by gaining millions of new dependents, only to risk a world war and have to protect an even bigger border. Economic and electronic influence is much smarter.

It’s like our government is frozen in the early 50’s. McCain, God bless him for the torture he went through as a POW, is still stuck in the Cold War. It might be time for him to step aside and enjoy well-deserved retirement.

If it’s not stupidity and ideology that has possessed our neocon government, it’s imperial overreach and power hungry malice that seeks to start war to boost its own budget and influence. This seems to be what the intelligence agencies are all about. They seem not to realize that fighting Russia is not the same as fighting Iraq, and that full-scale conflict with Russia would be the end of our way of life. Scary. Good thing God has a plan.

I think we have a president who would like to provoke a crisis in order that the lightning bolt justifying postponing the transfer of power comes from without rather from within.

As for understanding the Russian mind, what perspective does our foreign-policy establishment understand other than their own hothouse faculty lounge fantasies? You could disagree with a Kissinger, a Baker, an Acheson – while still taking comfort that they were competent and had a solid grasp of global geo-political realities. The problem with the modern foreign-policy establishment is not that it is “neocon,” but that it is both infantile and arrogant in its infantilism.

Like many others here have experienced, there have been times in my life when I have been subjected to ridicule and rejection with false witness and misrepresentation. I see this happening more and more to Charlie as inauguration draws closer. No matter how strong we are in our faith this can be accompanied by a strong sense of persecution – not a persecution complex but real persecution – and oppression which can be draining and debilitating like a chronic condition that will not resolve. The intense and relentless malice present in such attacks is a favourite playground of the forces of evil. This can infest and effect a person in body mind and spirit. I am sure many good souls here are way ahead of me on this and already pray with great vigour for the well being and preservation, protection and strengthening of Charlie as the intensity of his own personal storm increases in the face of opposition and what I perceive as a growing and gleeful anticipation and desire expressed in some forums for failure of his prophesy and the demise of his mission. I do not know if Charlie is suffering from any of this but I was moved to suggest that more than ever Charlie needs our prayers, our rosaries and our masses. The prayer that used to be said for each communicant at the time of receiving comes to mind: Corpus Domini Nostri Jesu Christi, custodiat animam tuam in vitam aeternam. Amen, Charlie.

I understand Charlie – it made me think of my old director’s words to me “What other people think of you, Joe, is none of your business.”
I was really thinking of those times when it suddenly dawned on me that it was a background swell of the ill will of others that was actually affecting my life – like a curse. While this is countered by the presence of the saints in our lives “on whose constant intercession we rely for help” there have been times of blockage and imbalance in my life that have lacked my conscious awareness of the dark influences from which they derive their power. Gossip, rumour mongering and calumny feed these forces. As Pope Francis said – “where there is calumny there is Satan.” And as it suggests in “The God of Surprises”, awareness changes everything or in other words “The Truth will set you free.”
The good old Protestant hymn comes to mind –
“Onward Christian soldiers, marching as to war,

Funny how little connections come to light – The Rev Sabine Baring-Gould who wrote Onward Christian Soldiers also translated the carol ‘Gabriel’s Message’ from Basque into English. And here I am putting my faith in Gabriel’s message to Charlie next to my faith in Garabandal which is in Cantabria next to Basque country. Gabriel made an appearance in Garabandal too!

          Wednesday, May 30, 2007
          SUNDAY, JULY 2, 1961:

On the Feastday of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary [traditional calendar], the two angels, who appeared one on each side of Our Lady, were St. Michael and St. Gabriel, the Angel of the Annunciation but also the Angel of supernatural dreams and prophetic revelations, more particularly those related to the divine and universal plan of the salvation of humankind. Gabriel appeared but once at San Sebastian de Garabandal.

[Isabel Daganzo, an artist painter, under Conchita’s guidance, drew several sketches of these first apparitions. In one illustration of the Blessed Virgin with the two Angels, an “Eye” is drawn at the top.]

The “Eye of God” (“ayin” in Hebrew, “ophtalmos” in Greek): what a theme! This word, or expression, in its singular form rarely used in the Bible, is then applied explicitly to the divine omniscience and providence. Given the four previous manifestations of the Shekinah, the eruption of this “Eye of God” who “alone probes the loins and the hearts” and who plunges down into everything and
          everyone, is not surprising.

The iconographic signal here is absolutely correct: in Holy Scripture, indeed, right prevails over left, and top over bottom. In the children’s vision. the Eye, placed above Mary, effectively designates Yahweh, who dominates all creation, all times and History itself.

At Lourdes, during Her last apparition, July 16, 1858, Mary (the Immaculate Conception) manifested herself to Bernadette, “more beautiful than ever,” and not without a profound reason, since it was the Feast of “Our Lady of Mount Carmel” . . .

At Fatima, it was the same, Mary having also appeared, for the fourth and the last time on October 13, 1917, under the title and the form of “Nossa Senhora do Carmo.” These were undoubtedly prophetic signs of her later “manifestations” at Garabandal: consequently, a fulfilled rendezvous!
[Excerpted from “Garabandal” Book, pages 44, 45.]

As I said before, this was the link that made me believe in Garabandal immediately, “Our Lady of Mount Carmel.” I started to wear the “Brown Scapular” around this time (1970) and have never taken it off! It’s interesting about the two Angels appearing with Our Blessed Lady. At Fatima, just St. Michael appeared. I wonder if this was a first in the history of Marian apparitions? God has a purpose for everything so there must be a deeper meaning for this besides the fact that it related to the Feast Day! Theologians say that St. Gabriel inspires us with Godly thoughts and gives us the “Strength of God”! That’s how we can combat the evil one. Of course we have to ask for these gifts, they don’t just come to us. Try it! I do ask every day! But, of course, I am very devoted to the Angels anyway.

I’m praying with you, Bob, on your prayer intentions. The way I see it we take nothing from Charlie, our country or the world when we pray for all these intentions together. I cannot pray for my family without then praying for all families. Christ’s Redemption is infinite. Recently, I commented – just as you have here – that I want what God wants. His Plan is Perfect. Ever united with you in prayer, Bob, and with all here and the many intentions.

          Hi Bob

There was once a girl called Joan. She became The Maid of Orleans, a leader of men.

I am not American and sometimes I do not feel I really know where home is but I feel very much at home with the Americans here on TNRS who have so warmly welcomed me into their lives, who have called me friend by their reception of my small contributions and their prayerful support and affirmations.

Beckita is a very kind and good friend and calls me things like a great weaver of stories but I am not great and I do not weave. The stories weave themselves. I am sure if I tried to weave it would quickly fall apart and unravel. I just tell stories as they come to me.

Many years ago I remember feeling very foolish in Disneyworld Florida on my one and only visit to the states. There, I was deeply moved by a patriotic presentation about America and the American way. I experienced a great envy of those who enjoyed American citizenship.

But America would have been too much for me. You need to be tought to survive there. I needed a little country without too great expecations or demands but one in which rough enough was by no means good enough. One that took great pride in its ability to survive in isolation. I was led to New Zealand.

“God of Nations at Thy feet, in the bonds of love we meet” is the opening line of our National Anthem. I no longer long to be an American citizen. New Zealand is more than enough for me. She is small but she too is great.

Among the background music in Florida was God Bless America. Ever since that Disneyworld presentation I have been a bit in love with America.

Often the opening words of that hymn run through my mind
“God bless America, land that I love
stand beside her and guide her”
This is my prayer for her well being.

As the words gather momentum I picture her greatness from her mountains to her valleys to her deserts and oceans that reflects the glory of her Creator and think of how pleased He must be with her many citizens who still live heroic lives of Christian faith and principle, who do their darned best to be as good as possible despite some horrendous conditions that threaten their very existence and salvation. I picture the vast starry skies and the light from above. I am not conned. I am convinced of the good convictions held by so many Americans.

Like my stories that weave themselves I do not have to say a prayer for America but that prayer says itself in me like the prayer of the heart. Knowing my own sinfulness and yet hoping in the greatness of God’s love in His Mercy and Justice (Mercy always comes first) I humbly pray for the very best outcome for all Gid’s peoples and especially for your country so highly blessed under the mantle of Our Lady of America and Our Lady of Tepeyac.

It seems like hard times lie ahead for the whole world but even those who have lost greatly will find the resources to regroup, survive and prevail and be a sign of real hope for others. This is the greatness of America. Not just in words of encouragement but in deeds of valour. In my profession we do not define health as a constant state of wellness but in the ability to recover. Our metal will be put to this test soon enough.

In the words of another land’s patriotic song America will be “A Nation once again.” So may that hymn for America to be blessed continue to be prayed in me for in that prayer we seek, as Beckita so wisely says, not only the well being of America but of all nations.

“Lord Jesus Christ, Son of The Father,
Send now Your Spirit over the earth.
Let the Holy Spirit live in the hearts of All Nations,
That they may be preserved from degeneration, disaster and war,
May the Lady of All Nations, the Blessed Virgin Mary,
          be our advocate Amen. ”

This prayer was dictated to Ida Peerdemain in 1945 by Our Lady in Amsterdam. After changing its mind several times the CDF replaced the original words ‘who once was Mary’ with the ‘Blessed Virgin Mary’.

The new church approved and God given title, The Lady of All Nations, was intended to indicate her command and commission for these times. Sister Lucia said that Jesus told her He wanted full credit to be given to Mary in The Triumph of her Immaculate Heart. As Our Lady herself in Akita in 1973 said ” I ALONE am able to still save you from the calamities which approach.” Thus she can be truly seen as The Lady of All Nations , glorified in her Triumph over the devil just as surely as Christ was glorified in his Resurrection and Triumph over sin.

The troops need to respect their Commander in Chief and give Her honour according to Her Rank. No one in Heaven under God holds higher rank than Mary. God bless America, land that She loves, land that She leads.

There was once a girl called Mary. She became the Handmaid Of The Lord, the leader of mankind.

Joe, I have been spending some time this week reading the Messages of our Lady of All Nations.

I picked up a CD for the car-ride home for the Christian Holidays, as Charlie is want to call them. Mark Miravalle spoke on Her.

It is interesting–or it has struck me as interesting, that She speaks the way She does about certain nations. It is not polemical like LttW was subtly or like I even accused Charlie in my heart as being in the beginning.

Rather, looking back through the Scope of History and seeing the Accuracies and seeing her own words as regards why She is giving the Messages, it is amazing to consider: She plants her feet upon the Globe to show her rootedness, her involvement, her concern in the Politics of the World for the sake of Unity amongst all Nations.

It is not that She is taking sides, rather that She wants to be there for all, to call all.

It is so nice to see her Involvement and know there is great Hope!

I do not have a pc at hand so am limited to using my phone but Becks has kindly agreed to copy and paste for me. And so the connections continue to form as I, like St Ignatius, who was ‘forced’ to read spiritual material while confined to bed after being injured in battle – (btw I of course am nothing like that great Saint except in his, at times, gruff and short tempered manner) am led to other articles on TRNS.
Just for fun I typed in the search engine, the date that the article on Archangel Gabriel was published, Wednesday May 30 2007, and was led to three more articles, two by Charlie and one by Dan Lynch.
I discovered that on May 31 2007, the day after the article about Angel Gabriel was published, the then Archbishop Burke gave canonical approval to Devotion to “Our Lady of America, The Immaculate One”, the title of Dan’s piece on TNRS.
    Charlie’s two articles were entitled
“Soldiers of Christ, Missionaries of Mercy.”
    And
    “Onward Christian Soldiers”.
    What a coincidence.
Just before Christmas my nephew was sent on a deployment training course with the army in preparation for his forthcoming posting in Iraq. Just so, I see these connections as notice for us steppers to get ready to march. I hope I do not presume too much or am jumping the gun. But it seems quite plain to me. If I am wrong, like Charlie, I stand to be corrected.
Here we have St Michael, patron of soldiers and leader of the heavenly army, and St Gabriel messenger of God entrusted with mystical revelation of the highest order, brought together in a new and unique way, in the forums of Garabandal and The Next Right Step. And I do not mean simply the online forums. That in itself is privilege enough. And now we await the call to arms, our marching orders, from Charlie.

Could be, I don’t know Michael. The thing is, our situation is like having a piece of ground the size of a football field embedded with 10,000 active landmines. I don’t see much benefit in speculating which one will set things off. As we stumble around the field, one will go off – and when it does it will set the rest of them off.

Just noticed this…You heard of it already?

Outgoing President Obama is firing the D.C. National Guard chief DURING the inauguration, which could lead to mass riots in D.C. – and threaten the life of President Trump.
          http://www.infowars.com/riot-stand-down-obama-to-fire-national-guard-chief-during-inauguration/

Obama ordered that Maj. Gen. Errol R. Schwartz, a key figure overseeing riot control at the inauguration, will be removed from command Jan. 20, 12:01 p.m., just as Trump is sworn in as president.
“It doesn’t make sense to can the general in the middle of an active deployment,” said D.C. Council Chairman Phil Mendelson in response to Obama’s decision.

Well, it does make sense if Obama is trying to cause a National Guard stand down which will allow anti-Trump rioters to wreak havoc on DC. Schwartz was blindsided by his firing and said he would “never plan to leave a mission in the middle of a battle.”

          — radical leftists from all over the world want to make January 20th the most chaotic Inauguration Day in American history.
“Their stated goal is to ‘disrupt’ the Inauguration festivities as much as possible, and they are planning a wide range of ‘actions’ to achieve that stated goal,” journalist Michael Snyder reported. “Some of the more moderate groups are using terms such as ‘civil resistance’ and ‘civil disobedience,’ but others are openly talking about ‘blockades,’ jumping barricades, throwing projectiles and ‘citywide paralysis.’”

Tarja, some sources claim that Donald Trump has fired the General. Others say it was Obama, yet another I read said that the General resigned on his own accord, well perhaps with a little pressure from the Pentagonians. It just adds to the chaos and confusion. The devil is in the details. Of course it’s best to acknowledge God, take the next right steps and be a sign of hope.

Would you provide a citation for that? I have read multiple articles on it, none of which knows from whence the order came…though as a presidential appointee, such a dismissal most likely comes from the president. And the general, himself, says no such thing – but that he was given orders to stand down at that peculiar time. Orders have to come from those who currently hold power. So what you assert can’t possibly be true. What we DO know is that neither Donald Trump nor James Mattis CAN dismiss him until they hold power. So if you have such a credible citation, please provide it rather than simply asserting it. Of course, this is the first time you have ever commented here on anything – if you are sincere, show it.

I read about this last night here:
            https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/public-safety/commanding-general-of-dc-national-guard-to-be-removed-from-post/2017/01/13/725a0438-d99e-11e6-b8b2-cb5164beba6b_story.html?utm_term=.01e963d28321

My take away understanding was that in the transition of all presidential appointees, a request can be made in advance for a letter of resignation from all appointees that automatically goes into effect at the time of Inauguration, unless the incoming president rejects the resignation. The article claims Trump did not reject the General’s resignation.

The resignation later would have to have been requested by the current president as the president elect has no power to do so.
            https://presidentialtransition.usa.gov/2016transitionactivities
“January 20, 2017: Inauguration & On-boarding of New Political Appointees Begins.
Inauguration Day marks the official end of the current Administration. In past transitions, the President has requested all non-termed political appointees to submit in advance a letter of resignation effective upon the swearing-in of the new President. On this day, agencies will begin on-boarding new appointees and will continue to do so over the course of 2017. On-boarding includes appointee orientation activities, such as briefings and workshops, which are funded through the GSA. On January 20, 2009, the Obama Administration had seven Senate-confirmed appointees ready to begin work.”

From the same Washington Post article: “Army Maj. Jamie Davis, a spokesman at the Defense Department, said Schwartz is classified as a “non-career status employee.” He noted that the interim commander “is ready to assume complete mission” and handle the inauguration.”

In a brief search, l haven’t found anything about this “interim commander” nor who it might be.
I did find this executive order from June 2016:
            https://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2016/05/06/executive-order-facilitation-presidential-transition

It leads me to understand the team appointed by the current president is responsible for making sure this transition is smooth:
“…Sec. 3. Establishment of the Agency Transition Directors Council. (a) To implement the guidance provided by the White House Transition Coordinating Council and to coordinate transition activities across agencies, there is established an Agency Transition Directors Council…
… (c) The Agency Transition Directors Council shall:
…(vii) ensure agencies adequately prepare career employees who are designated
to fill non-career positions during a Presidential transition; and
(viii) consult with the President’s Management Council, or any successor thereto,
            in carrying out its duties…”

This is my first attempt at posting my own research on a topic. I’m clearly an amateur!
Unfortunately, there’s a great deal of information missing in the stories I’ve seen so far. It leaves room for unfounded speculation from all sides. Seems to be the status quo these days!

It is normal for political employees to submit their resignations in advance of the new administration taking over. It has been that way since the beginning of the Republic. After the new administration takes office, it decides which resignations to accept and which to reject. That has been the standard practice. There have been a few deviations over the centuries. In this instance, the only deviation is that Trump told ambassadors who are political appointees to have their bags packed, signaling that he will accept their resignations shortly after he takes office.

You did quite nicely in your first effort at standard research. You simply lacked the historical context to put it in – knowing that decisions on acceptance or rejection are not issued until a new administration takes office – and that even those who have offered that resignation do not leave until they are informed by the new administration that the proffered resignation has been accepted.

Charlie, the article appears on ZeroHedge here:

            http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-01-13/dc-national-guard-chief-fired-days-trump-inauguration-timing-extremely-unusual

As far as I know, there is no indication in this article of who fired him and certainly no reason to believe Trump did it. Trump apparently did give notice to all Obama-appointed ambassadors to leave when Trump is sworn in, but that was not official. It was giving them a heads-up that they will be removed once Trump is officially president. That’s the only precedent for thinking Trump might be the one behind this, that I can see.

UPDATE: I finally found the Washington Post story. This all seems normal in terms of the Trump team accepting the general’s pro forma resignation letter. That the Army moved so quickly seems odd, but that is the extent of it. Maybe it was a miscommunication between the Trump team and the military. It doesn’t appear to be a big deal.

News flash: “Bikers plan to attend inauguration to protect Trump.” Google it. Several sites are carrying the story.

Seems more than 5000 bikers are expected to show up. Seeing — not to mention hearing– them roar into town, should put the fear of God into at least a few. The spokesperson says they plan either a peaceful rally or will do what’s necessary to help should trouble erupt.

And don’t forget the heavenly host the Lord will send. If He did it in the days of Elisha, Why wouldn’t He do it for us.

“…15 Now when the attendant of the man of God had risen early and gone out, behold, an army with horses and chariots was circling the city. And his servant said to him, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?”

16 So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”

17 Then Elisha prayed and said, “O LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” And the LORD opened the servant’s eyes and he saw; and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.” 2 Kings 6: 15-17

Not sure but i wonder how the story is sticking with all those not following Charlie. I followed Charlie from last year and as told close friends what he had to say. As soon as obama expelled russian diplomats i realised whatever Charlie said was playing out. Then the fake news simce that was not enough they reveal a name and are going along the lines intelligence wouldnt believe it if it wasnt serious and m16 agent is trustworthy according to peers. Now the only thing they have is some phone calls between russians and trump representative on thr day of expulsions. I think its more probably in the public believing the story. Its looking very grim for trumps chances. Meanwhile israel pm is worrier about obama causing more damage before jan 20. To bad he doesnt know obama is here to stay and will most definately split jerusalem. To me obama seems like islam to the core as his strategy has always been underime the us and strengthen the advisory. Anyway apologize if i said something wrong or hurt people.
