The RESCUE Has Begun

lourdes1

In recent comments, the topic of all of Charlie’s prophecies continues to be raised. For some, in discernment, there is a belief that the error in the inaugural prophetic piece puts belief in all of his prophecies at risk. Not so fast, please, Fellow Discerners. There is a distinct difference between a failed prophetic element as we experienced at the inauguration and a false prophet which, I firmly believe, Charlie is not. I emphasize that great care must be taken to gather indispensible information and facts into your discernment as you ponder where we are in this Storm.

A primary, stand alone fact is this: but for all our contemplating and conjecturing about why the inaugural prophecy failed, not one of us definitively knows exactly why God allowed this. Not one of us knows. I repeat: “Was it a Jonah moment? Was it a Joan moment? Was it further deception of the satan? Only the Lord knows! “

ONLY God knows, Dear Friends. Only GOD knows. Only God KNOWS. In His Perfection, the Source of Wisdom, has not revealed this to us for His Own Perfect Purpose(s). We  are left, in our contemplation, to draw ever closer to Him in prayers and deeds, to wait upon Him and to completely surrender to His Plan.

I invite you to reflect on these facts:

*Charlie did not enter the public realm to proclaim the Storm. That had already been predicted 21 years ago and this evidence remains in his archives. Charlie conveyed we are IN a Storm and it would get much worse. This, we constantly acknowledge in comments here. Charlie went public to proclaim a RESCUE.

*He has written that RESCUE has two major dimensions. It is both a process and an unique event in time, I’ll call the FINAL RESCUE, in which Our Lady the Immaculate Conception will intervene in a miraculous way, visible to all. This prophecy is also unique because it was given directly to Charlie by Archangel Gabriel and when Charlie resisted naming a time frame for this prophecy, he was dramatically corrected by St. Gabriel to tell us and tell us true.

*The PROCESS of RESCUE had already begun, before Charlie was born, as, mainly, Our Lady and, sometimes, Our Lord had been appearing on earth, giving guidance and exhortation concerning ways, for those who would listen and take up the cause, to repair spiritual damage, resist the onslaught of our Mother’s adversary and reclaim souls due to rising forces of evil. The messages which have been fully approved by the Church, deserve consideration in order to cull the spiritual treasures which enable us to more fully participate in the process of rescue, for every soul that returns to God impacts both the individual soul, so precious to God, and mitigation. (UPDATE NOTE 2/16/17: An important clarification of this paragraph was published February 16, 2017, here, to remove an ambiguity that was never intended.)

*The majority of Charlie’s mystical input, if you will, has been given for him, personally, to guide his work. Since the inception of this blog and with the many presentations Charlie has made throughout the country, he has called people forth in faith, focusing on the prayer of doing which we know is encapsulated in this: acknowledge God, take the next right step and be a sign of hope to those around you. In embracing this commission, we participate in the process of rescue, right now, in our ordinary lives.

I, for one, continue to firmly believe in the FINAL RESCUE by Our Lady. In posts to come, I wish to lay out the case without hyper-focusing on the prophetic details of the Storm in relation to the difficulties and suffering yet to come, which many writers in the Church have named, “purification.” We NEED the Storm with its inherent purification. God in His Justice MUST purify us to bring us back and to prepare us for the great outpouring of graces needed to rebuild this world once He has allowed us to experience what we, as a human race, have collectively brought upon ourselves. At the same time, never lose sight of the anticipated joy which will also be inherent in the suffering of purification. Such suffering can cause people to fall on their knees in repentance and conversion. The classic, “There are no atheists in foxholes,” may well gain new emphasis as this world has the potential to become one major foxhole. Be not afraid! This is in God’s Providence and, if needed, it shall emerge from His Pure Love for His Justice is the very fiber of His Mercy. He only and always acts from Pure Love.

Should we continue to pray for mitigation? Absolutely. Every prayer is heard and taken into account. Charlie, himself, conveyed the prayers of the faithful have shortened the duration of the  Storm. Since we know God’s Justice is exerted to reclaim souls, I have long prayed for mitigation in so much as people respond to the effusion of God’s purifying grace. May it be. Blessed be God! Ave Maria!

For your ongoing consideration as you ponder how best to live your role of sherpa and to prepare for what is to come, even as you surrender all details to God’s Plan, I repost the following piece.

Go Forth

go forth workers

By Charlie Johnston

I have often told you that my messages are primarily for me, not for the world – to help me do what I am sent for. I will speak a little more plainly today. I am sent to proclaim the Rescue even as the Storm darkens around us, to give people heart to raise the siege of the culture, to endure the Storm and participate in the Rescue now, that they may be united in one flock under one shepherd, honoring Our Lady as Our Lord, Himself, honors her when it is accomplished.

Before two and a quarter years have passed, all of this will have been accomplished. I pray that I am steadfast and true. But it will be accomplished because the people of God and who God has called begin to rise now. I call on you to begin to go forth in faith now with steadfast resolve.

Many restlessly wait for the “invasion of Poland” moment when all will know the form of the struggle we face. Of those, many restlessly seek to know precisely how and when it shall come. I tell you, France and England did the same as the Nazi menace rose, restlessly parsing Hitler’s words instead of preparing for whatever came. Such dithering cost France her liberty for a time and nearly did the same for England. People think if they could only see, then they would surely do. I tell you it is exactly the opposite: do and you will see.

You already know what to do: acknowledge God, take the next right step, and be a sign of hope to those around you. Live this steadily and you cannot fail.

I know I am often impatient when talking about predictions – others or my own. I have far fewer specific ones than many credit me with – but that is not the reason why I don’t like to dwell on such things. It is because it is the wrong question. Most believe the prophecy some have made of three days of darkness is quite literal – that there will be three days of absolute darkness for the whole world all at the same time. I take a little more figurative approach…that it probably means each person will be rocked and, for three days, bewildered as they try to get their bearings and live real conversion. My irritability at lengthy discussions of such is not because I want to prove I am right in my interpretation – but because I want to get the discussion back to productive matters. If others are precisely right on the three days, what do they gain if they do not occupy themselves acknowledging God, taking the next right step and being a sign of hope? Bragging rights? I gain no more if I am right and do the same. It is not that I don’t like being contradicted – it is that I don’t care about details of the question and spending inordinate time on it. Sometimes I feel like Dad has left us to split a cord of wood and we occupy ourselves arguing incessantly whether it is oak or maple or pine. If Dad comes back and we haven’t split the wood, it is not going to impress him at all who is right. If we do split the wood, even if we don’t know what kind it is, we have occupied ourselves doing his will – and he will be pleased when he comes. How I wish we would occupy ourselves splitting wood instead of splitting hairs!

Many still say I predict a Storm. I do not. I did 21 years ago, going into no little detail about its contours. Now I say we are IN a Storm – and predict it will get much worse before it gets better. Now temporal commentators, public intellectuals and former governmental officials in both America and Europe, in fields of economics, military and intelligence, routinely describe the Storm that is already well underway. Oddly, the less people know about fundamentals and history, the more sanguine they are that current troubles are just business as usual. They say we have been in debt before. They are right, even as their ignorance is appalling. We currently have about 100 trillion dollars in unfunded liabilities. I often use the passing of time to illustrate stark orders of magnitude. It takes 11 days for a million seconds to pass, 32 years for a billion seconds to pass, and 31,974 years for a trillion seconds to pass. In seconds, it would take 3,197,000 years to retire that debt. We have amassed debt that makes a geologic era seem a trivial thing and we think because we have overcome the equivalent of several hundred years of debt before that it is no big deal? We think because we have occasionally caught lizards that fighting an army of Godzillas is a trifling thing? We have gotten very stupid at the highest levels – and revel in our own stupidity, calling it enlightenment, even as we summon the darkness. The world is more volatile and unstable than it has ever been. The only close recent approximations I can find are the prelude to World War I, when every nation in Europe was itching for war – and the French Revolution, when every nation in greater Europe was threatened with upheaval. Those were only regional. Now every continent in the world, save Antarctica and perhaps South America are seriously threatened with war or revolt. And those are just the places where it has not already openly broken out. Throughout the world, Christians and Jews are under serious assault, with their livelihood, property and freedom threatened in the best of circumstances – and butchered, beheaded and burned in the worst. It takes no prophet to see this Storm now, nor to see its trajectory. It only takes a quick look around.

So what do we do with all this? The functionally atheist, progressive statists that currently hold sway simply double down on the very things that have brought us to this point. I don’t expect more than this from all those delusional pigeons who think themselves peacocks. (And yes, I know, many clerics have functionally abandoned the faith to curry favor with the pigeons who think themselves peacocks.) But what do many of the pious do? They act like denizens of a betting parlor, choosing their favorite locutionist or visionary or apparition, restlessly parsing the betting forms to discern which will prove most precisely literally accurate. It is going to get brutally cold this night – and your knowledge of the variety of wood you were supposed to split but did not is not going to keep you warm to survive the night. I have said repeatedly that we are not called to be spectators of destruction, but participants in the Rescue.

I only have eight public prophecies that I insist on. Only the visible, miraculous Rescue by Our Lady, the Immaculate Conception in late 2017, is time sensitive. Five things must happen between now and the Rescue, but can happen at any time during that period. They are:

– The continued toppling of governments throughout the world, including that of the U.S. The toppling of a government does not mean the nation shall fall.

– The confrontation with and fall of political Islam.

– The mass conversion of most Muslims

– The confrontation between the Judeo-Christian world and the current government of China.

– The alliance between Russia and the U.S. to lead the Judeo-Christian world to endure the confrontation with China.

To get caught up in the times and the means of each of these is to miss the point. Most will come at a time and in a way you do not expect. Busy yourself splitting the wood right in front of you and it will not matter, for you will be prepared. Do not assess these things by your estimation of how much time it should take. The rules have changed for this period. Just as St. Joan of Arc rescued France within a few months after over 90 years of decline and despair, rest assured that when the Lord acts, it is done.

Then there are two prophecies that happen shortly after the Rescue. They are the unification of the faithful into one flock under one shepherd and the building and location of the Shrine of thanksgiving for the Rescue.

My fundamental duties are three: to defend the faith, hearten the faithful and defend the faithful. These are actually tools to facilitate the proclamation of the Rescue and to hearten people to begin to participate in it now that we may knit the culture back together, build each other up and endure the balance of the Storm until Our Lady is sent.

So when an argument breaks out over which locutionist, apparition, or interpretation is most precise, my exasperation has little or nothing to do with who is right; it is frustration that we are still not occupying ourselves with serious things just because those things are plain and homely. We KNOW the basics of what we need to do by the perfectly normal means of the Church and Scripture. We want to spend time speculating and parsing. But we have entered very serious times and must confront it with sober humility and steadfast resolve if we are to endure and build each other up.

I have said repeatedly that I am sent to do, not primarily to say, and to encourage you to do the same. Going forward, I will occupy most of my time talking to you about how to do the same…to acknowledge God, take the next right step, and be a sign of hope to those around you. That is what will revive the culture even as the darkness seems to mount. That is what will build people up and fill them with courage to endure. That is what will keep people to the safety of the ship until we are safely in the port which is Christ. No matter how violently the wind and waves rise and howl, know that Christ is Master of the Storm. Man your post. Eschew vain speculation. Quit using your desire to see as a substitute for living your obligation to do. Do and you will see.

I apologize now for the fact that I will rarely indulge curiosity on speculative matters any more. We already know enough from what already surrounds us. We have a lot of wood to split – and it is time to get to it with passionate resolve and focus.

The Rescue began when Mary said to the Angel Gabriel “Here am I, the servant of the Lord; let it be with me according to your word.” Luke 1:38 and our Lord Jesus Christ came to the earth in the flesh.

Yes, Mark, that Rescue is awesome and, as you note, “began”at the Annunciation. We, as a collective human race, continue to need rescue as we look at the condition of the world around us. For every person who returns to God, or discovers and embraces Him for the first time, then lives the core message of TNRS, the work of rescue continues.

      Dear Ms. Swanson,

The Denver Archdiocese has misunderstood Ms. Hesse’s statement about prophecies. The statement, “The messages which have been fully approved by the Church” refers back to the apparitions that occurred before Charlie was born.

Perhaps you should have been contacted Ms. Hesse and given her the opportunity to clarify her statement before issuing your press release.

Let’s all continue to pray for the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, to the glory of God!

Mary Ann, this is only my own opinion, but I think God allowed this so we could all go through exactly what we are going through now. Hearts are being revealed and I think the purpose of this is to show us where we are at with God, so that we can repent, detach, grow and move forward with God. I say, better now while we have each other for support than later, when we may have a lot less support and things are in chaos. I believe this has all been a great Mercy from God and a gift.. to truly know ourselves and our own hearts! Once we have walked through this fire…well, we have Our God of surprises who will set all things in order. 🙂

            Good morning Snowy,
For the first time since the inauguration, I spoke with my son about this yesterday during my snow day off. I can assure all of you in red states, that the atmosphere here in CT is VERY hateful, politically and very personally directed. I work at university where Christians are not quite protected or welcome anymore because some faculty suspect who did not vote for the Democrat’s candidate. The campus code of conduct is even being revised so it can get dirtier still.
Happily, I do feel more empathy for Muslims who have been through the same harassment in the last two decades. I can feel God’s joy that my heart has been softened yet again, to understand persecution even more now. For me to be thought of as neanderthal in my department is something very good in the end. Words do not work yet. Actions, TNRS are the only way to peace at this stage of the process. Yes ‘faith comes through hearing’ but peace comes through love.
When you think of it, the Muslims are pro life and marriage, and the same can be said about the Jews during the time of their persecution and the Blacks who suffered before and after the Civil War. So when the dictatorship of relativism comes to its senses in this present day and age, those same folks might understand that by defending the peaceful Muslims in all over the world, they are also defending some of the same values that Christians all around the world profess. I can clearly see a bridge that can be built here.
My son tells me the climate is even worse in San Francisco than on the east coast. My daughter in law is currently in the throes of a cross country job search, so they are considering the move based upon the normal criteria, but at the top of the list is the ‘Catholic/Christian Community in which to grow their family’ priority.
We may want to run to safety but I don’t think we can hide– as you say–from the fire. We will see how middle America fares. My goal here is to sound hopeful to you.
Praise God that He cares for us and His Will is the most loving way. 🙂 Love ZJ
Praying an extra rosary for world peace and y’all– fasting for our persecutors.

I rarely ever do the tiny bit I do hear disturbs me to point where I ignore most of it. The world is a mess and always has been. I left it to itself a long time ago.The fire I was speaking of is the purifying fire of the Holy Spirit. And this we should run to- now away from! I’m sorry, I feel like I live on a different planet than other people and so I never understand what people are talking about. Maybe it’s because I’m so secluded, literally live like a hermit and rarely ever get out..I don’t know. I don’t know how to respond to your comment. I feel like a complete idiot- I’m sorry.

Good morning TNRS! For the Feast of our Lady of Lourdes I am contemplating the Truth that the God of all creation, of all power and might… Jesus sent His mother to take care of the holy business of His children in His Church. It reminds me of childhood. 😊 That has to make us smile haha. Not by power and might but by His Spirit. What consolation!
Our Lady of Lourdes– pray for us. St.Bernadette– Guardian Angels of France, the Americas and all nations– pray for us. As the Mass goes, so goes the affairs of the world. May we consecrate all who need Him, to the Lord at Mass today. May all who need physical healing, desire to touch our Lord put our hand in the outstretched hand of our Lady today. We are safely in the midst of the holy family.

  9. As a Protestant, I used to keep an eye on a prophet that has recently passed away. One thing he said (that differed from Charlie) was that President O would fulfill his term. I never disbelieved Charlie, I never thought him to be a false prophet, I know, after years of watching prophecies be fulfilled, they are NEVER fulfilled the way we expect them to be. Never, ever. Matter of fact, if you expect God to zig, be assured He will zag. Just to shake you out of your complacency. Just rest in its conclusion, and watch how it unfolds.

So many times, God keeps wonder before our eyes with His apparent paradox. Even as we walk though these crazy days, my heart cries out more for Rescue. If anything, I think that the Presidency of Trump is showing us that our only salvation lies with God himself.

I do miss Charlie’s writing, though. His insight into the political realm, and how to ‘see’ certain situations was so enlightening. Many prayers, and much love to all here. I miss you terribly, Charlie.

  11. Devotee of Mary says:

The Diary of St. Faustina contains the best explanation regarding what happened to Charlie Johnston and his two unfulfilled prophecies regarding Obama finishing his term as president and the peaceful transfer of the presidency to Donald Trump. First, St. Faustina (1905-1938) never saw during her lifetime the Divine Mercy become a feast day like the Lord promised. (In 1997, Pope John Paul II visited the Shrine of the Divine Mercy in Kraków and established the Feast of The Divine Mercy in Poland. In 2000, during the canonization of St. Faustina, he established this feast for the whole Church on the Feast of Divine Mercy.) Second, St. Faustina wrote about obstacles from God that she herself witnessed: I saw that God Himself seemed to be opposing him [Fr. Sopocko, her spiritual director], and I asked the Lord why He was acting in this way toward him, as though He were placing obstacles in the way of his doing what He Himself had asked him to do. And the Lord said, I am acting thus with him to give testimony that this work is Mine… It is not for the success of a work, but for the suffering that I give reward (Diary, 90). Write that by day and by night My gaze is fixed upon [Fr. Sopocko] and I permit these adversities in order to increase his merit. I do not reward for good results but for the patience and hardship undergone for My sake (Diary, 86).

Bechita, as you said, people were getting attached to Charlie so now they must rely on God alone. Let us pray.

Briana, we are entertained day in and day out these days by journalists everywhere making over the top claims with hyped language. Both those on the right and those on the left are playing this story for their own purposes, though the Left does it more often and more luridly. Those of us here need to cut through the hyperbole and confusion with sharp discernment. The Flynn affair is one of these areas where hyperbole and confusion reigns.

If Trump is removed unconstitutionally, that would be a hard coup d’etat. The resignation of an advisor for lying to the vice president is a mere kerfuffle compared to such a thing. The weakening of the president to the point of uselessness would be a soft coup. Though the Flynn resignation may in the long run contribute to a soft coup, it is not a soft coup in itself but only a small step on the way. Palace intrigue. We will have to see if this builds or fades.

Personally, I think a president *needs* to fire an aide who lies to him or his vice president, regardless of the surrounding hype and regardless if the opposition uses it to “count coup” on the administration. Clearly, though, you are right to think the administration cannot afford to see a lot of this kind of event, or it will indeed weaken itself pretty seriously.

God is pouring out such mercy for us. The damage might have broken in January, but everyday that it just trickles harder is a mercy that more can be saved.

Ah, Briana, I’m sorry for not being clear. I have no doubt you reported accurately and that the commentator said exactly what you say he said. I was merely adding that commentators say a lot of things these days, many of which are not true or reasonable, and that we all need to keep a level head ourselves or get swept away on the seas of hyperbole. You are so right that things are not working out anything like expected. Our world has become an amazing, weird, scary, awesome circus spectacle. I certainly pray that lots of mercy is spreading below the surface, because I don’t see much quarter being given in the struggles visible before our eyes.

I just read the post on Spirit Daily about the Arch diocese of Denver putting out the statement about you claiming the rescue has begone.. Then I did see your answer and yes the Blessed Mother at Fatima did promise an Era Of Peace, which would be a rescue…..
Everything in the news is unsettling. I must withdraw and catch my breath and just give it all to the Lord. He is in charge.
    Peace and Prayers to all.

So…with all of these post inauguration “intel” leaks by government insiders (left over from or purposely placed there by the Obama admin), with the willing participation of the mainstream media to not report the full truth of the stories (General Flynn, now Sessions etc.) as well as their attempt to fabricate a “Russo-Trump” conspiracy theory… was Charlie’s prediction about Obama not transferring power peacefully maybe just a bit off in the timing and method? Did he misinterpret what had been revealed to him…thinking the inauguration wouldn’t happen? Sure sounds like Obama is causing trouble from the inside, which seems to exonerate the main purpose of this part of Charlie’s message, just not his timing or method.

I understand it’s a process to reconcile all that has transpired in reagrds to the inaugural prophecy with the current deeds of Obama and the chaos, confusion and division which continue to intensify in our country, yet, we do need to honor the latest statement of the Archdiocese of Denver and refrain from reinterpreting the inaugural prophecy. I really do think SteveBC said it well yesterday so I reprint his comment here. God bles you, Northeast.

Again, I must counsel accuracy of terms and situations.

First, the tactics being used here by those resisting the Trump administration show they intend to use scandal to force a sitting president to resign or be removed via impeachment, or to so neuter his power as to make him unable to discharge his duties as president. “To force a sitting president.” These tactics clearly show that the opposition is quite aware that power transferred from Obama to Trump on January 20th. They took action before Inauguration and continue to take action now in underhanded ways to undermine a president they know to be legitimate. That does not make their overall intent anything less than a coup d’etat. But their recognition of Trump’s position has clear implications for this community in relation to Charlie and his failed prophecies surrounding Trump’s inauguration.

Second, the Archdiocese has cautioned everyone here, not just Beckita, to avoid reinterpreting Charlie’s failed Inauguration Day prophecies in an attempt to make them “unfailed.” This is something Charlie himself has also called on us to do. It is crucially important that we realize that power did transfer, albeit somewhat rockily, to Trump and that Charlie’s prophecies related to Inauguration Day did fail.

We must all remain clear here, not just about what is going on in DC but also what is going on with Charlie’s prophecies related to this transfer of power. Attempting to make Charlie right in this when he was clearly wrong prevents us from moving on in a clear-eyed fashion here in this community, to move on with Charlie, with the rest of his prophetic framework which remains intact, and with his (and now our) mission.

A clear-eyed view of the world and of our continuing mission with Charlie is increasingly important as we see the Old System of the World truly starting to tear itself apart. Do not get roped in on any of this, or you are at risk of being drawn into becoming a part of the collapse of the Old World (with all the anger and fear and violence inherent in such a process), when your mission is to lead others out of that Old World into the New.

Northeast Catholic, if I may add to what Beckita quoted. 🙂

At *this* time we have to go with the prophecy as a failure. Yes, he definitely was in error. In the long run we may end up deciding he really was in full error or that he was off only in timing or in some other aspect. The important takeaway for us *now* is to allow the prophecy to be a failure. It’s really OK to do that. With that recognition, we can move on with what our next right step is right now, while we wait on the Lord to clear things up if He so chooses. And if He doesn’t, we have nonetheless done our next right steps in the meantime.

        Hi Steve,

I am not sure I would state the prophesy was a failure. I have a slightly different take on the outcome. I’m not saying this is what occurred, but I believe scripture opens this up as a possibility. I’m basically referring to a Jonah moment, but when I went back and read Jonah. I saw parallels there that I have not noticed before; namely that God never asked the Ninevites to repent or told Jonah to tell them to repent.

Here is what I pondered shortly after the inauguration as I articulated to our storm dinner group back on February 9th:

I hope everyone is doing well and imagine that everyone is quite relieved that the election and installment of our new president is over.  Well, it has been quite a month and now the anticipation is over.  We have sworn in a new president and at least on the surface it appears that things will hold together for a time longer.  I, for one, am thankful for the peaceful transfer of power from one of the most anti Christian regimes (oh, I guess I was supposed to say administration) to one that is far more in line with our Judeo-Christian values, those that this great country was founded upon.

And the outcome from lasts month’s optional “1 or 2” storm meeting agenda was number 2 which was that the inauguration took place.  As such, we had a night of prayer, discussion and determined what the next right step for our group is 🙂

There were 32 people at the dinner (if you include 5 children) which makes it the second most attended dinner thus far.

As many of you know, a large part of what got our dinners off the ground was Charlie Johnston’s prophesy that Mr. Obama would not complete his last term as president.  This did not occur and as such, Charlie has kept true to his word and has retired from managing the “Next Right Step” website and blog.  I personally was holding out hope for his prophesy to come true until shortly before the inauguration since this would have given me extra confidence that what he terms as ‘the rescue’ would occur in late 2017.  We believe the rescue is the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary which is a long awaited prophesy from the seers of the approved Fatima Apparition.  Well, the peaceful transition has occurred and now that leaves me, and I imagine many, wondering what happened and what is next?  Is Charlie a false prophet?  Has he mislead us or was he deceived?  It is only natural to ask these questions.

First, knowing Charlie personally, I can say he is a man of utmost integrity.  A while back, he made a promise to God that if certain things unfolded in certain ways, he would dedicate his life to publicly proclaiming these things that might take place in the future.  Charlie has done this with some fear and trepidation as he has put his reputation on the line.  He held true to his promise and to show good faith in what he was purporting, has lived a life of simpleness and poverty.  He has never taken donations for his talks other than a nominal fee which barely covered his transportation costs.  He has written some very sound spiritual pieces on his blog and always emphasized faith in God and trusting God in all things first and foremost.  He emphatically stressed doing the little things in front of us.  I took this as living my daily life well, putting God first in all I do and helping my family and others to the best of my ability.  When we truly trust God, we have little to fear.  I think this sums up most of our callings in life and is very sound advice no matter what transpires.

Secondly, as I reflect on the scriptures, I was lead to the book of Jonah in the old testament.  I have read Jonah a number of times and always found this book intriguing.  But this time I read it with much more fervor and study and discovered in it something that I believe relates to Charlie.  In the book, God told Jonah to go into the City of Nineveh and publicly proclaim that the city was going to be destroyed (overrun) in 40 days.  There was no explanation or indication to Jonah that God might not follow through on his plan.  God never asked Jonah to direct the Ninevites to repent or that he might relent or change his mind.  He simply told Jonah that he would overrun the city in 40 days and nothing else.

Now upon hearing Jonah’s proclamation, the King of Nineveh rose from his throne, removed his robe, covered himself with sackcloth and ashes and then proclaimed a fast.  The people of Nineveh repented.  This moved God to a change of heart thus He relented on what was to become of Nineveh.  Now I repeat, nothing in this book states that before or after the forty days had passed God explained to Jonah he decided to relent on what was to take place with Nineveh because of their repentance.  Jonah fully expected God to follow through with what he said he would do and reacted accordingly.  After Jonah made the proclamation that God had instructed him to, he left the city and waited for what God had said would occur.  It never did and we see at the end of the book that Jonah was greatly disappointed.  I have always thought that Jonah was disappointed because he wanted the sinful Ninevites to perish, but is this really true?  Rather, could it be that Jonah suffered a bitter root and depression because he now appeared foolish because what he predicted did not come true?   Did Jonah suffer because his reputation was shot afterwards?  In the end, God chastises Jonah for his bitterness and shows how much compassion he had for the people of Nineveh.

So was Jonah a false prophet?  Was Jonah deceived?  Given that this is a book of the Bible and that it declares that Jonah is a prophet, I would hardly say that the answer to these questions is yes.  God accomplished his purpose through Jonah to bring a people back to him; the Ninevites.  In addition, Jonah was recognized by Jesus as he quoted him when talking with the Pharisees in the Gospels.  So Jonah was elevated in stature, yet his prophesy did not come true.

So what do we learn from recent events?  I think if what was revealed to Charlie was true and it did not come to pass, then maybe we should consider asking ourselves, Did God relent?  Did our response with prayer and with taking the next right step in our own lives cause God to change his mind?  Is this just a calm before the next phase of the storm?  Is the storm still raging and will we still see the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary this year?  Does this tell us something more of the nature of God?  I think these are fair questions to ask.  Often times, our knowledge or certainty of something may turn out different from what we expect.  I know I can say with certainty, I am a better person for having met and known Charlie (and all of you)–mostly because he has always aspired and taught me to build my faith and trust in God.  So I will continue to trust God, to take the next right step and to be a sign of hope to others.  Maybe this is the real prophecy that does not change.

        God bless you all!

Doug, you are correct, in my view. That is the plain text of Jonah. Jonah was angry that the prophecy he was ordered to preach, and did so so reluctantly, failed to come to pass. And the Lord says, Should I not have compassion on so many people who don’t know their left hand from their right, to say nothing of all the animals? I love the animals part. I think the words by the communications person in the diocese were at best a sloppy misreading of Beckita and an overreach in what can be demanded. Doesn’t bother me, and I hope it doesn’t bother Charlie. His only mistake, if any, was in choosing one of the non-eight-for-sure prophecies to be a sign. Moreover, why should there be a sign? What generation has ever had a sign for a rescue, and not had to trust? Has not the rescue already been promised, both in Scripture and at Fatima? I don’t say things will or will not play out precisely as Charlie says, though I think that any serious observer would see the same scenario building at whatever timetable our response to Providence permits. A prophet in Scripture describes the template of God’s action. Gives God’s Word. God’s Word is always God, and that is why every prophecy has echoes and layers in every time until the Day of the Lord, both the First and Second Coming, when the prophecies are completely fulfilled.

Good morning northeast, Doesn’t the news just look like a glimpse into hell? Speaker of the House noticed that some citizen’s are finding their ‘hair is on fire.’ What an image!
Let’s not forget that our Church liturgy and prayer move us through time and have actual effects. What didn’t happen yesterday was God’s Will. According to God’s Truth and teaching. He ‘knows’ if we trusted and prayed– and it makes a difference. Just as God’s law of gravity is affected by out nearness to the earth, prayer and trust in God is a law that can be messed around with or rejected. Then the world suffers. Then more people pray, or sadly perhaps fewer, and the world responds. This keeps the angels on edge.
Our Lady of Fatima asked us to make the 5 first Saturdays for reparation. We should not wait around hoping a prophecy will ‘come true’ especially if it is about a Chastisement. Let’s pray and fast with gratitude and love, knowing God’s laws are faithful and true. 😊 Happy first Saturday– ZJ
