A Hope-filled Victory

In the final weeks of the administration of former President Barack Obama, a regulation was implemented which blocked states from defunding Planned Parenthood and other healthcare providers that perform abortions. To reverse this slyly-timed action, today, the Senate advanced H.J. Resolution 43 which would allow states to deny family planning funding to Planned Parenthood. Vice President Mike Pence cast the tie-breaking vote.

An article in US News, which details the implications of this Obama era regulation, noted:

“We are so grateful that Vice President Mike Pence, who began the battle to defund the Planned Parenthood abortion corporation when he was a Congressman, traveled up Pennsylvania Avenue to cast the tie-breaking vote in defense of human dignity and babies lives,” said Maureen Ferguson, a senior adviser for The Catholic Association. “This Senate vote to advance H.J. Res 43 is a victory for all Americans who don’t want to see their tax dollars subsidizing the abortion industry and its ghoulish trafficking in aborted baby’s organs.”

Thanking God for this victory, let’s press on in prayer, seeking the deliverance of David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt from the persecution they are under with the power abuse of pummelling 15 felony charges against them on Tuesday. Of all places, an editorial in the LA Times names this for what it is:

“Felony charges are a disturbing overreach for the duo behind the Planned Parenthood sting videos.”

David French at National Review covers the story well, aptly describing the persecution:

California’s case not only fails on the merits, it reeks of selective prosecution. There is no shortage of examples of concealed-camera videos in California exposing scandalous behavior (the Federalist’s Sean Davis has been tweeting them since the indictment), often in the arena of animal rights. In 2014, a group called Mercy for Animals released an undercover video that “allegedly show[ed] widespread animal abuse and cruelty at one of California’s largest duck farms.” Authorities reportedly responded to the video — by investigating the farm.”

Mona Charen, also at National Review, gets right to it in her piece:

“We are witnesses to an abuse of power by government that represents a test of our democracy. Anyone who fails to rally to the cause of the Americans victimized in this case should be discredited.”

Life News had a great article about the new video release. For those who may have missed it, you can view the video embedded in the article.

And EWTN Nightly News had a fine interview with David Daleiden which has been uploaded for viewing. Thanks be to God for this courageous man! David is a friend of this site so:

David, if you’re reading, please know TNRS stands with you in solidarity and prayer. As ever, we acknowledge God, listening for Holy Spirit’s nudges to direct any next right steps that would support the work you do while praying and sacrificing for you, your colleagues, your work, the conversion of all entangled in the lies of abortion with its life-sucking tentacles spawning additional evils, and the end of the scourge of this culture of death.

About Beckita

Beckita, widow, mother and grandmother, lives in Missoula, Montana. After more than thirty years of service, she retired from two careers: elementary school educator and director of liturgical music ministry in a local parish. Serving the Catholic Church in many capacities since early childhood, she now provides care for a nearly 90 year old priest of Chinese origin and collaborates with him in evangelizing the Chinese people. For more than twenty-five years, she has welcomed words from heaven concerning these sobering times in which we live and, like so many, takes seriously Our Lord and Our Lady’s call to intercede for the return of souls to God. Responding to heaven’s call for prayer, for her, included making pilgrimages to shrines in Europe, Asia and South America. She says these travels, added to her years as a Peace Corps volunteer in West Africa in the mid-seventies, have expanded her heart to hold dear all peoples of the world. She is a longtime member of TNRS community and when she began reading Charlie’s posts, immediately, she found that his mission and message harmonize well with Church approved private revelation of our times. In September 2015, she accepted an invitation to become part of TNRS Answers Team. As events of the Storm evolved, last fall (2016), she accepted Charlie’s invitation to become managing editor of TNRS should he need to leave the site. With great gratitude to and for Charlie, founder of TNRS, and with great respect and admiration for the lifelong experiences and God-given gifts he brought to bear on his work at this site - she knows we all know he’s irreplaceable – still, she considers it a great privilege to serve the TNRS community.

Now if only are Priests had the fortitude to preach this from their pulpits in Florida, and our Bishops the same, in correcting Catholics who are politicians (Nancy Pelosi, Joe Biden, Michael Kaine, and Barbara Boxer, to name just a few in high political places that the Bishops ignore) who support and promote abortions, not just free choice. What would Jesus do about the supposed faithful supporting and promoting abortions, as an example of what he did with the money changers in the Temple in Jerusalem?

Beckita, thank you for all of the links showing support for David, Sandra and for the Culture of Life. James O’Keefe/Project Veritas tweeted a statement of support as well. It is a joy to see the endorsements of David and The Center of Medical Progress, especially from unlikely sources like the LA Times editorial board. Praise the Lord. ❤

David and Sandra you are true living heros. Just like many stories in the Bible with Gods grace you have been able to move mountains. I respect, love, and admire you. I will pray for you both and believe God has great things in store for you. Heaven must be so proud of you. Know that brothers and sisters in Christ wish you justice, joy and peace. GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME!

David and Sandra are true heroes, and I do not use that term lightly. They are in my and my family’s prayers; may God bless them, protect them, and grant them victory over the evil forces assailing them. Dearest Mother, crush the head of the serpent which is threatening those who are trying to save the littlest and least among us.

All it takes is a few strong men.

Please God the Bishops and Priests and Pastors will stand shoulder to shoulder with the brave lay men and women who are fighting for what is right in the sight of God. And the scandalous culture of infanticide will be seen for what it is….a deadly self destruction of societies.

God bless you David and Sandra.

Yes, Fran. From here in Ireland where we have actual consititutional protection for the unborn, which the present shabby (I could use many other adjectives but, well…) Government are actively trying to dismantle, I say: the witness of David D. is so important, because we’re so influenced by your culture. The UK seems to be a lost cause, as most of Europe, but we’re hanging on, just about. And as Mick says above: “David and Sandra are true heroes”. Yes. And yes. God bless all, and as we know: “In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph”. Blessed First Saturday to all. J.

Asking for prayers for my daughter, Friends. She’s been hospitalized with Salmonella and C Diff after eating at a local spot. It’s looking like she could be in the hospital for as long as a week and she was just set to start a new job tomorrow. Jesus, we trust in You. Thanks, in advance, Everyone.

Abortion is clearly wrong. It is also wrong to support organizations that support the pro-killing movement. The Girl Scouts of the United States supports Planned Parenthood both directly (depending on the troop) and indirectly through their association with WAGGGS (World Association of Girl Guides & Girl Scouts) who collects dues based on the number of girls enrolled in Girl Scouts. Knowing that, why don’t more Catholic diocese see the problem with this and cut ties? Most Catholic schools in my area have their own troops and the parishes allow those troops to sell cookies after Mass in the back of the Church. Saying abortion is bad but condoning an organization that supports it by allowing it to function on Church property only serves to confuse people.
